So after all the recent discussion around european super leagues and the ballon d'or stuff I got to thinking what is the current best world XI...

    Here's mine:
    4-3-3
    GK - Hart
    RB - Lahm
    CB - Pepe
    CB - Pique
    LB - A.Cole
    CM - Schweinsteiger
    CM - Xavi
    CM - Iniesta
    Fwd - Messi
    Fwd - Rooney
    Str - C. Ronaldo

Subs - Neuer, Marcelo, Chiellini, D.Silva, Bale, Neymar, Aguero.

    Whats yours?

I can think of several better forwards than Neymar.

For a team that would actually play well? Not just the best player in each position?

    Hart

    Lahm
    Kompany
    Vidic
    A Cole

    Bale
    Toure (captain)
    Xavi
    Ronaldo

    Messi
    Falcao

Subs: Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Casillas, Thiago Silva, Ozil.

Good defence/attack balance. And the same balance in the bench.

Bale is obviously the most shocking choice, but offensively and defensively there is no better LM in the world.

Falcao is pretty incredible. I plumbed for Aguero. Not much between them if you ask me.

Who would you go for instead of Neymar? I went for him as I would play a front 3 with 2 forward players coming in from wider positions. Which is what Neymar is particularly good at. Once he makes that move to a top european side the top 3 in the world: Messi, Ronaldo and him will pick itself.

Whats wrong with Rooney!? Top player. Almost single handedly carried united to the Premier League title last year has consistently performed for England in the last few years. Can't think of anyone better that isnt already in my set-up...

That there Saints fan, what makes you think my team would not play well together and yours would? Pretty confident in my teams defensive capabilities with Bastian, Xavi, Iniesta and Rooney (more than happy to track back and help out) and going forward I would be more than confident of scoring goals. Be interesting to see Ronny going back to playing on the wing and Messi playing up top with a striking partner like in your side. As both currently play different roles in their sides

Ahhh definantly not. Falcao is a top player and was very close to making my bench but Ibrahimovic!? No chance. Sooo inconcistent and fails at the very top level

Not sure they'd track back enough to be honest, although saying that mine would only be marginally more, more shocked at your emission of Yaya!

Forwards better than Neymar off the top of my head:

    Messi
    Ronaldo
    Falcao
    Aguero
    Ibrahimovic
    Van Persie
    Cavani
    Torres
    Tevez

Then a fair few (Gomez, Benzema, Di Natale, Higuain etc) who are probably better. Neymar is very overrated.

If you're talking about forwards coming in from wider positions then you can begin to chuck people like Hazard, Lavezzi and Ribery in.

Sorry but he's been a top class player for years. He may be inconsistent but when he's on form he's unplayable. He's certainly better than Neymar, who you've put in despite playing in a **** league.

Zlatan isn't inconsistent in the league, I don't really know why it's so commonly accepted that he is. His performance last season for Milan was astonishing.

I think the Zlatan is a complete tool, but he's a very talented tool. Wouldn't quite get in my World XI, but he's not far off.

Your probably right about tracking back but I would have faith that we could keep the ball well and outscore the opposition. Saints style.

Im not sure I agree with you Mr.Nice on Neymar. Think he looks pretty impressive personaly. In that position of being part of a front 3 I dont think any of those players in your first list would be better than Neymar when not playing the central position (taking out the ones I already have in my side). Thought about people like Hazard but went for Neymar as think he can provide something a bit different to my other front line options and I have Silva who can play that kind of role

Agreed he is playing in a poor league but he has done execptionally well and whenever he has played for Brazil he has looked top class. Theres a reason why people are touting him as the next big thing!

Joe I love your alternative side! Hulk was very close to my team!

Yes, but he's got a long way to go before he's up there with the best.
