Nice bit about the effect of ticket prices on attendance in this mornings Telegragh. Those in control of these things at the KC might do well to take note. "The official attendance for England's home game against Ukraine was 68,102, thus the FA deserves credit for attracting a crowd of 85,654 to Wembley on Friday night, giving a chunk of tickets away for free and pricing others attractively and intelligently enough to have an effect. This is a policy pioneered to good effect by Derby County in particular, and other clubs would do well to pay attention, because a generation â the one that, as a nation, we're so eager to praise ourselves for inspiring â is being robbed of the opportunity to watch live football, due to the inexcusable cost of the entrance fee. Clubs should be ordered to take specified steps to fill empty seats, and fined if found not to be trying hard enough". Full disclosure: no amount of price reduction would get me to attend, way to far to come-6000 miles or thereabouts.
KK where did the term Kempton come from. I see it bandied about a lot and I know it refers to one of the stands at Boothferry Park. But when I used to go in the 50/60/70's dont remember anyone using that term.
I thought it was him loosing all his money on the races at Kempton Park so he wanted to turn the bookies into Kebabs.
I agree the Allams prices are great for kids . It cost £18 for a kid at Leeds and £16 at Sheff weds that's disgusting .
Totally agree with this, prices for kids at the KC are great however the kids invariably need an adult with them and with the current economic climate many adults unfortunately can't afford their cost so the kids do lose out.
The 16-22 concession generally £16 Cat B or £18 Cat A game (Cat C game like Ipswich is only £10) are more than useful - some clubs don't offer his type of concession. I do feel however at the moment (for whatever reason) no adult ticket should be more than £20. Next season needs a serious rethink.
Thing is, these discounts we have aren't some kind of generous Allam brainwave. They've been there before this year, some of them since Duffen was in charge in fact. All the Allams have done to ticket prices is raise them, all the 'good' deals are existing ones from old regimes. They're only still going because the owners know they can't get away with stripping every good offer at the same time, and whilst they hit the disabled, 60-65s, west and south standers and other groups hard this summer they can't piss everyone off, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the 16-22 was gone by next season or something similar, although the backlash might serve to put them off.
Due to the massive price hike in the Premier Club, from December this year, I'll be paying £46.95 per game for my 16 year old. I know I could move, I'm just pointing out that it's swings and roundabouts, the kids for a quid seats are being funded by the kids for a grand seats in the Premier Club.
But still OLM, they are truly fantastic prices. I wasnt aware of them costs and surely that must be the cheapest for an udner 16 anywhere in the country. Why isnt more being made of that from as PR persepctive? They see every single home game during a season for the cost of 2 at Wendies or TWS in the same division. And as you say, you can easily move your 16 year old's seat and he / she will see exactly the same product. Entirely up to you and if you choose not to move that's your call.
I don't think it's that unusual to do kids for a quid deals, even some Premier League clubs do them, I know West Ham and Fulham both do.
Probably true actually, I'm not sure I've come across another club offer kids for a quid season tickets outside of League One/Two.
I don't think our ticket prices are that unreasonable compared to other clubs in the league. Fact is though that Hull is probably one of the poorest cities in the league
Hull is no poorer than the likes of Barnsley Blackburn Bolton Millwall et al - in fact the not insignificant East Riding support probably means these prices are well within range. Prices have been static for some time - my East Stand has only gone up £45 this season and paying monthly has made little or difference to me.. I don't think pricing is the main reason behind the loss of some 3000 or so season ticket holders - more to do with the product on show in the days of NP and NB and the PR disaster of sacking Nick - SB has however felt the brunt of this even though the product this season is so much better. Difficult to entice people back in the short term once they've decided to stay away unless we make top two come the end of the seaon and then they'll all be clamouring for tickets with the PL on the horizon.
Do tell me which part? We're talking about the ticket prices being high, and you just selectively started going on about one set of prices which are low, which have been in place longer than the recent price hikes and you're making out as though those prices mean that the Allams are so generous. The 16-22 thing was brought in by Duffen, nothing to do with the Allams. Basically anyone who says anything against our beloved owners is spouting ****. Are you sure you're not Ehab?
Sorry i missed this one Ws. The strange thing is,i only went in Kempton twice in my life.I was a south stander ! I actually thought the name "Kempton" came from that little train station at the back of the east stand . So my user name is just something that popped into my head, when i first signed up to this fine board. I'm a bit like that, i suppose. I don't even like kebab's. Well maybe after a night on the laash,WHEN THEY REIGN SUPREME !
