I think it's a brilliant reason, I mean, would you leave your life in the hands of somebody that stupid?

Never ever ever mention football in a job application. It means they will think you will call in sick many times because of it.

The only time it's worth mentioning is if you captained your youth team or something like that. Never mention being a fan though, it takes no skill whatsoever to sit and watch somebody else doing something.

Yeah, you can mention you play it, or if you're a captain. But never say you are a fan. It's just telling them you'll have a lot of days off 'ill'.

The trouble is the education system, health care system, and social services are now full of people who devote disproportionate amounts of time and energy to dissecting what people say in an effort to detect 'hidden' biases and prejudices. They can't really create a just society so they concentrate on people's language, which is a lot easier.

I upset someone at work the other day by using the word 'still' as in 'this query is still outstanding.' All I meant was that it was two weeks' old and I wouldn't have bothered with anything more recent, not that the recipient was doing nothing about it. Pathetic, but sadly becoming more typical.

Political correctness is a very unfunny joke and it is spreading everywhere. Soon the English language will become a meaningless, utterly sanitised vehicle of thought whose sole purpose is not to upset anyone's 'finer' feelings.

Personally I would have told the bloke from the hospital to get out into the real world and stop being a prat and a PC fascist.

Tash never fails to disappoint. But never fear Tash, you will always be welcome on here for advice! Whether it be about job applications, or advice about women...

    Yup.

For the record to everyone, I'm not saying he's autistic as you would perceive autistic people to usually be like. I'm speaking about the social side of it:

It's the point in bold which is most prevalent. Tash, you do some mind boggling things and say some mind boggling stuff, yet you cannot seem to comprehend or understand why we (or anyone) sees them in this way. I cannot fathom how you wrote this in your application and genuinely didn't even consider that it might damage your chances of getting the job.

As if that wasn't bizarre enough, you then actually believed that your comment would give you some kind of upper edge in your pursuit for this position.

This can't be serious. I can imagine a 12 year old doing this (not that a 12 year old would be applying for a job) but not an adult unless there was something wrong mentally.

Or as a final theory maybe Tash has ran out of things to post so made this article up instead hoping that other forum users will think that it is disgraceful the NHS would not hire him for 'bleeding black and white'

  14. They asked you to describe yourself and your interests, so i thought i'd try to show myself as a person with enthusiasm and passion, so they'd think my bright personality would be suitable for the job.

Lets face it though. The numb nuts at the NHS wants their arses kicking for making an observation like that. If that's the only thing that stopped him getting a job, there is something seriously sick about these PC brigade. They are just complete dickheads who do not live in the real world and should be sent to a wimpo island where they can all rub each others feelings better. ****ing sick to death of them. The meek have inherited the earth. THROUGH THR HR DEPT> bastards. Hate them.

Should we all complain on Tash's behalf?

  19. What i find most frustrating is how PC the interviewers are, but inside the job, everyone is ok with swearing and makes dirty jokes. I was really suprised when i heard dirty jokes being told in a loud and audible way, and i thought the bloke telling them was going to get the sack, but even the managers where fine with it.

They were probably looking for (given the nature of the job) somebody who was caring and sensitive. You should've told them about the time you posted an article about a friend's insecurities on a football forum. <ok>
