Isn't that what every driver's trying to do? Ferrari will have more money than Red Bull, it's a simple fact. I'd expect them to sign Newey just like they did Rory Byrne. Hell, they could even pinch Horner.
I Beat Vettel in F3's argument makes sense, especially as Seb sees himself as the G.O.A.T-in-waiting (Silver too, of course). Incidentally, I Beat Vettel in F3, are you really tomtom, by any chance?
Times have changed since Schumacher. Maybe Seb wants to jump from the edge of space now or wants to be a member of the Speedgang or any other "cool" Red Bull stuff? For being (or getting) a member of the legendary Speedgang alone i would stay at Red Bull Guys like Sebastian Loeb, Walter Röhrl, Mattias Ekström, Gerhard Berger and Travis Pastrana are members there and they have a lot of fun: http://www.servustv.com/cs/Satellit...439&p=1259405241439&pagename=Speedgang/Layout
Indeed, I don't think Mr Dietricht Mateschitz would be too shy in flashing the cash should it turn into a bidding war, he's only worth a mere 5+ Billion! So I doubt the likes of Horner, Newey and Vettel would be lured away by the Lira!
The question is though, does Alonso have Ferrari's interest at heart or just his own? Vetoing world class drivers like Lewis and Seb doesn't really fill them with much confidence if that really is the case with Alonso. Seb seems to want to join Ferrari in the near future, but wont be stupid to agree to have his hands tied behind his back like Massa if he did join. The talk of him saying that he is surprised that Massa is so slow compared to Alonso when he has been up against Schumacher and Kimi in the past and held his ground speaks of part truths. If anything that was a warning to Ferrari that if the want his services they will have to give equal status and no compromise unless he is mathematically out and the same will have to be applied to Alonso or he will consider going to Mercedes. Seb isn't a kind of driver to start attacking his team mate, but Seb will retaliate if Alonso pushes his luck! Seb will mind his manners and do what he does best, Alonso would be best advised to do the same because Seb isn't as nice as Lewis.
They're all sulky whiney brats when it all goes wrong or they don't get their own way. F1 drivers seem to be so bloody precious these days. I can see why teams don;t really want two no.1 drivers as the toy-throwing must be horrific.
Judging by the way McLaren has gone lately, I suspect Whitmarsh may have received a severe blow to the head.
A few months ago Marko said that Vettel driving for Red Bull in 2014 was subject to the team's performance. Now he contradicts himself: In the article it also mentions recent German reports saying that Vettel has "get out" clauses.
