The "marshals". It took them eight ****ing laps before they realised they actually needed to move Rosberg's car out of the way.
I honestly thought that the back straight was going to be under waved laps for the whole race. As it happened so early on, it had a big impact on some drivers races, Raikkonen could definitely have got past Massa, and Grosjean past Hulkenburg had they had DRS.
Just one of the many jokes on view today. 10 ****ing laps? The f1 authorities pussy footing around once again. I actually believe that speed limits will be introduced to this sport before too long! Custard pie in the face award? The whole sorry spectacle. Without doubt probably in my top three worst races I have ever watched. I'd love to see how they try to sell the sport after days like these.
Custard pie goes to Ecclestone for allowing this race to go on. Its a terrible track. There's no flow through the corners and the first sector attempts to generate artificial overtaking.
If I had to pick any one thing I would have to say that the stewards taking forever to get Rosberg's car moved was ridiculous. I still don't see any reason why it took so long. Also, boring race, the track isn't great. These new tracks for the most part just aren't that great, artificial overtaking, no flow. I'm still looking forward to see what Austin provides and I'm really hoping it turns out to be a success.
Yeah, I think the good part of this is the enjoyable twisty bits in the middle, but other than that, bleargh. Tilke typically has a long straight on all his tracks with two hairpins at either end. Why does he not realise that this doesn't work? It's difficult to get traction following another car onto the straight and difficult to outbrake them at the end of it. He needs to look at something like Sao Paulo pit straight where the change in elevation increases the slipstream effect. Unfortunately I don't have high hopes for Austin, there doesn't look like many spots you could overtake on.
Custard pie in the face? DC's comments about "professional" racing drivers not causing incidents at the start of a race:
At least he made it to the start of the race. Imagine a "professional" racing driver who can't even make it round the formation lap (in the dry) without crashing.........
Custard pie on the 'carpet'. What a shambles. As far as track construction goes, I cannot remember such a blatant example of 'amateur' – with the possible exception of a hastily constructed chicane made by tying tyres together (the night before) at Monza. I also agree with the general criticism of Tilke: what a poor effort this is. When will he learn that a track cannot be 'prescribed' by numbers in a computer – or his own square, robotic head?
