When Beattie was in his prime he just seemed to be able to float in the air for so long when he jumped for a header! My name is, my name is, my name is.....Jaaaaames Beaaattie.
Who you calling stupid? I'm hurt now. I wasn't shouting, more gently rapping. And I was successful so yah boo sucks (note mature response)
Where is GMI these days? Anyway what CF said 6 months ago: So you all have to put real Saints stuff on it. Call it a 24 hour trial (actually 25 because I'm out tomorrow evening).
Feel these 3 are all worth a shout, just to watch our boys go on and be world beaters. The Chamberlain video weirdly misses his last goal for us which was a beauty as well and capped off our promotion from League 1 in style.
Going back a few years but this prompted Sir Matt Busby to say that big Ron was the greatest centre forward in Europe:
Thanks Chilco Saint, having been born two weeks after that game, I hadn't seen it before. Really enjoyed that, despite the patronising interview technique from Jimmy Hill. How good was Sydenham. That is the first footage I've seen of him and he looked awesome. Don't let Rickie Lambert see this, he'd be drooling.
John Sydenham and Terry Paine between them were unbelievably good. How I wish we had a winger as good as either of them nowadays! Saints took Man U apart that day, and don't forget that only just over a year before that game Man U had won the European Cup for the first time, and Charlton, Law, Best etc. were at the height of their form.
I noticed the array of "reserve" players United had on display!! Not wishing to take anything away from that Saints side, but would I be correct in saying that this was the season that Busby had left and Wilf McGuiness (?) had taken over? There was a bit of unrest I believe in that camp.
