That is a bit of a daft thing to say, AllHell. If the boot was on the other foot, there would be uproar, plain and simple. To lie about such a thing is a mark of the man.
The story about Elliot being proved wrong in his alleged racial abuse in Scotland was posted on CL...no suprise it was pulled
The Mirror carried the story on today, reporting that he was at the match and is waiting to take over as chairman.
My information is that Slater wants out, he says that he is a Man Citeh fan and wants to see more of their games also this fuss with the Spanish police is now taking up a lot of his spare time. The problem is that without a Chief Exec the Club want to appoint an Executive Chairman who takes an active role in running the club and Paul is not sure how he could fit this in with his other work. There is no rush and this may take a little time to sort out.
Bit off topic, but I was sent this link at work which is worth a read. All the nonsense of CP possibly being ''next'' to go has now made the national media. But of course, posting on forums don't ever make news as people don't research them... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...bies-crown-8229349.html?origin=internalSearch So who is now causing problems at the club.. TJ, fans forums, the press or a combination of all 3?
Every single one of those "stories" is complete rubbish probably drawn from reading forums. Saha, Charlton and Burton stories definitely like that. Everton story is hardly a journalistic work. That doesn't say none of it is true, but it still looks like a story created on Charlton Life, including pure speculation from there.
An uneasy relationship? What? Sloppy journalism to recycle speculation and innuendo as if it were fact.
Things like this really are at the clubs detriment. It really bothers me that such nonsense is even mentioned in the first place, let alone be picked up by a national paper.
How do you know it is not fact?Have you got any hard facts to say that it is not fact?Wishful thinking does not count as hard facts. How do you know that Steve Tongue hasn't got a very good source? You dont. Why do you think that it is recycled from a football forum?Have you got any hard facts to say that is so?No I thought not.You just believe want you want to believe.I want to believe that Jimmy Saville was a decent human being who raised a lot of money for charity.
It's all information taken from CL. If you believe otherwise then you probably still do believe jimmy Saville was a decent human being who did a lot of work for charities.
Steve Tongue missus used to teach me Engliish grammawr and and spell words at Eaglesfield. He lives in Charlton somewhere and used to be a radio match supporter for the bbc.He was also involved heavily with the reporting of the valley party and would be pals with the supporters trust or rebel alliance or whatver that bunch of idiots call themselves. So it seems to me he is doing a favour and giving press time to give the trust some momentum after the recent poor showing at the beehive. Thy are starting to make my pee boil. They are starting to embarras the club now with their meddling and their granny tattle.
This Supporters Trust is now having a really negative effect on our club AND IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN FORMED YET! It seems that if you show some Charlton supporters their right foot they'll shoot a fecking bullet in it!
Charlton Life are demanding a club statement. Considering that most folk on CL believe that the departures of Kavanagh, Varney and Everitt are the subject of forthcoming legal actions, I wonder what they think the club could actually say under their scenario. "Everything's hunkey dorey, folks" probably wouldn't cut it, would it? And even if it did, it would probably be seen as an admission of trouble, like the dreaded 'the manager has our full support'. If dickplumb does come back on here, I would be interested to know what the club could say to put him at ease. And putting the proposed Trust at ease probably in reality goes against the interests of investors. They're also blissfully forgetting the months and months of non-information from the club after relegation to League 1, but that's a matter for another day
