Well he did, as it happens. Going against what he and his army of brothers wanted was one of the incentives for being a Saint. The problem is, I did like my dad so I am left with a bit of a soft spot for our fishy friends and hope they get out of their current ****e. So now the point. Can someone please explain what the hell is happening? As I see it, the League won't let some crook take over. But he still owns a beefburger van that is blocking the entrance to Fratton Park so no-one can get in even if they have a key and Pompey may end up playing at Brighton or possibly Boulogne. Is this right, and is it true that some geezer with tattoos and a bell is looking to buy out the van, or the ground, or the team or something?? Please explain.
Funny choice, your metaphor about the burger van, the real burgervan owner probably has more money to invest than Chanrai
For those who are interested, the following link gives an insight. It was on an article on the Pompey board. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba...ide_story_of_the_ali_al_faraj_regime_-_part_2 Makes grim reading for any Pompey supporting family you may have.
My brain hurts reading that. It is shocking that such a plan can be devised, but has happened in other companies outside football. Pompey fans should at least be grateful that the courts didn't let Portpin put their own lawyer in charge of the administration.
Oh Man just read it....it Beggars belief......... So Portbin or Chanrai holds all the aces. All that is except one......The FA.......If they decide he cannot or Portbin cannot take over the club. Can he force Pompey to close...? Can he actually stop Pompey from playing at Fratton park? If he is one of the creditors how come he cannot be made to except the penny in the pound return like all the others? Just a thought on this............. does right of entry come into this after all Pompey is a legitimate business and has been registered at that address. Refusal of entry could be seen as a direct conflict of the laws of the right of way? There's a thought for some of you Uni guys out there doing law......
I try to read these types of article with an open mind, but to me, someone who 'knows' all these details, and apparently the personal thoughts of all those involved, well that person would have to have been directly involved themselves surely? More like it appears to me, there is no doubt plenty of fact here, but also lots of opinions presented as fact and i struggle to believe what is written. Just my thoughts.
That reads like an author's précis of a thriller for a publisher. Not that it would ever be published; it's way too far-fetched.
Be great thriller where a load of bad guys, successful in their own part of the world, attempt a similar crime in England, but are foiled by a clerk in the tax office. I can see Norman Wisdom in that role.
It all stinks, I think the best route is for the club is the Supports trust. With help from the council theres no reason why it wouldnt work.
I learnt a lot from that (can't believe how shady some of those guys are) but still not sure what happens next. Trevor Birch is still in charge but he must be looking forward to getting the hell out of there.
My mother and her side of our family are all devout Pompey fans, whereas my father and I are Saints, it does lead to friendly bickering which we all enjoy, it helps that we Saints know what it feels like to be where they are now, well maybe we weren't as bad as they are, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel; it just might be a train
Are you sure we Know what it's like to have done to us what has happened to them.........? To Go Broke.... agreed.......to not know who is finally going to take us over..... agreed. The rest of the horror story, no we don't, am sure glad we didn't have to go through that crap that they have had to put up with. Full marks to the diehards at Pompey for still being there for the club
