I think Vidic is a fantastic CB. He's good in the air, can jump and tackle well, he's strong and reads the game well.

But the last few years of "Vidic is the best ****ing CB In the world", Fifa constantly classing him as the best defender in the world and everything.

Whenever I watch him I'm impressed, but the ****er constantly escapes blatant bans for ****ty challenges. He makes awful challenges and is inconsistent with his actions. He may be POTENTIALLY the best defender in the world, but I don't think he's done anything to deserve being classed as the best defender in the world.

The fact that so many of his poor challenges and mistakes have been unpunished is one of the main reasons as to why he's rated so highly IMO. If he'd been disciplined and given the amount of red cards he has deserved, he'd not be rated as highly.

I don't think he's the best CB in the world but I also think your post is the work of a sad act.

Seeing as he hasn't played regularly for about a year in a half he wouldn't be the best CB in the world, but when he was playing regularly, without a doubt he was the best in the world.

So because FIFA classes him as the best that means all United fans agree? Jesus Christ Tash, this is ridiculous even for you <doh>

He's still a top defender. Maybe not the best in the world as we arguably was between 2008 and 2011, but still very good.

Why is he being written off?

Hes not a player who needs place so he should recover fine and play on for a good few years yet.

What was his second injury? The operation? I suspect it was booked well in advance tbf. I dont recall him getting injured during a game.

He will be fine, and back to his best soon enough. Have a little faith.

Last year was a ruptured cruciate knee ligament and he had surgery on it, this year he apparently reported tightness after training and he had a meniscus operation on the same knee. I had to google what that was for and it didn't fill me with optimism.

Calling people the best in the world is stupid unless you regularly watch all the games from the top leagues.

The same goes for everyone calling Ashley Cole the best lb in the world

For me, he was one of the best centre backs in the world before his injury. He isn't one of the best at the moment because he has just come back after his recovery from an injury but if he can stay fit then he can get to that level again.

True but would you need to watch all the leagues to call Messi the best in the world, or Ronaldo depending on which you prefer?

It has been said, that Chuck Norris is scared of Vidic and he single handily won WW2 with a death stare, all we care is he thinks the OP is a twat. :)

yep, let him come back and have few more games and get back to form, he will be the best again, at the moment people are under rating him, let him come back, he'll be the best, i would say if we had Vidic fit last season, we would of won the league no doubt

Seems about a fair reply to a pathetic opening post.
