..is that there was dissatisfaction with the players and Laudrups methods, the first time it happened (and i think what has been aired this week in the press by all accounts )happened in the USA . Senior players approached Laudrup (monk, tate, dyer and gower) and told him they didnt feel the fitness training was doing enough for them and they felt they would be left short in that department.( we beat QPR 5-0 ) Apparently its old news rehashed. The other thing i was told was from somebody close to me that had a conversation with eric larson, he said that this is the first club him and laudrup have been at where they have been given total control and the first time they havent had one hand tied behind their back while doing the job, they are desperate to succeed here and want to repay the faith put in them by the board. I also heard a rumour that we will be getting in another coach, beleived to be John Jenson, this is a rumour though. Its true some players find Laudrup bit of a cold fish,he doesnt run around touching up the players like rodgers used to and doesnt tend to blow sunshine up the players arses for doing stuff that as professionals they are expected to do. All in all there was issues but they are being worked through and the club is heading the right way, Jenkins mentioned teething problems and thaats pretty much what its been. I beleive this will galvanise the club, players and supporters and if anything it has showed the players that the fans will back Laudrup over them, most of us never want to see a player power scenerio appear at SCFC, and i think this recent news story has shown that the fans would rather see players removed before the manager, who in fairness has been nothing but honest and straight talking with fans, media and players!! There were stories of players not obeying curfews out in the USA and having a few drinks, controlling them was a bit of an issue some of those have left some thought they were going to leave but have knuckled down and done really well, generally boys its all about looking forward now and to some its no suprise this came out when a member of staff decided to move on . All eyes look to Wigan and im sure like most Jacks we all want to see a massive effort by the players to finally bury an intresting weeks worth of unwanted media attention. The future is bright, the future is black and white
My sauce told me it was Monk, Tate, and Gower, some time back, that's why I've been so firm on them moving on in my posts these last three or four weeks, and why I persisted with my comments, that they are out of their depth at this level, my comments regarding Tate and Monk, were nevertheless picked up by the one eyed monster Dai, but that's par for the course, thing is I know things are fine at the club, and there is no Sousa issue, so please Messrs Tate & Monk, clear off out on loan please, or hang up your old boots!.................
Thanks Norway, very interesting. Sounds like things are in hand and I like the motivation of Laudrup and staff.
Its definitely not something that should be swept under the carpet, I said when i was out with the swans in the usa tour that some players were not happy with the training and fitness level and i also said that liverpool have tabled a bid for ash and was waiting for a response when the team returned to the liberty. When you get senior players with grievances then it goes deeper than just training and fitness. Some of the players are unhappy with the club putting in place a one year agreement with liverpool and you can take an educated guess who the player is and you can guess who supports his grievance, it dont take a rocket scientist to work that out.. The quicker january comes where the club comes to their senses and let ash go to liverpool the better it will be for everyone. Ash is as good for us at the moment like a non league player he was, His heart is not in swansea at the moment and it is effecting his game. Imagine if you were in his shoes and you are losing out on a minimum treble wages every week because of an agreement made that has nothing to do with the players....I would be pissed off and so would anyone and ash has plenty of supporters among the players....Other than take it to the players union there is not much he can do and i dont think he would do that to the club anyway.......I hope both parties can come up with a solution and it gets sorted......the club is wrong to mess with players lives and stop a dream move if it comes along.....
Dai, I can see where your coming from. Ash may well be pissed off and yes we would all like to treble our wages, but he should be professional enough as Swansea City are paying his wages. If his form carries on like this the Liverpool won't be interested, come January.
Who the hell cares if the players are throwing their toys out, if they don't like it at Swansea they can clear off, we pay them good enough wages, and yes we wont compete with Liverpool, but look at their financial mess after last seasons reckless spending, sorry but Ash needs to be professional, he's a very poor CB at the moment, and needs to sort his game out, and Dai needs to stop exaggerating stuff, and making stuff up as well!................
Dai PLEASE, think ! There is no agreement with the snake, according to them! That's why Ash is probably p'd off. The Sh*t hasn't come back for him, he doesn't want him.I really think Ash has realised that by now, and Dai so should you pal. FACT. You mention 'some of the players' well who else then Dai? Who else wan't to run off? Dai as for the rest of your post , well it's pure you isn't it? If you put Dai instead of Ash it's more of the truth. Dream move to Liverpool? Dai Liverpool use to be big in Europe, well so did the Romans pal. Even their staunchest proponents say they need 4 years to get back where they used to be. WTF would anybody want to go there now? Dai as ever I and others on this SWANSEA, not Liverpool, SWANSEA board await your reasoned reply!
Let Ash go, he's pretty poor for us right now, and, as long as we get a decent fee, I would trust Laudrup to get a couple of quality replacements AND change. Michael Laudrup can improve our club and take us forward. Ash Williams is a player and just wants the money... as they all do. I suspect that Laudrup sees us as something of a mission, at least I hope he does, and, if he gets the backing, he could set us up for a very long stay in the Premier League. Still wish he'd kept Orlandi though.
Dragon- Nice to get another viewpoint. Daiswan may or may not know that there were some very naughty boys out in the USA, its been whispered that broken curfews were quite regular with 2/3 players enjoying the local nightlife. The most important thing for me is to see how the fans reacted to the news, basically 99/100 people were of the opinion that if players dont like it then they should promptly **** off from the swans, local heroes or not! As other posters have mentioned on previous de-railed threads, Laudrup deserves a bit of respect and we all know a new person will do things different. I honestly cant beleive why players think they are so special as to dictate how they want things done, a massive own goal by the players concerned,a lesser man than Laudrup may have suffered, the fact he is one of the greatest to have ever played the game gives him enough respect from the fans to ride it out, i have lost a bit of respect for the boys concerned,of course they get my full support whilst here and on the field but it does make you wonder what some modern day footballers think these days. Maybe the position of gaining a full time post after their playing days is slipping away??
Do i have to do all the digging on here????? If you want to know facts then go and find out yourselves...I could not give a toss whether you think my take on things that i find out of real people in the know is true or not. Im just the messenger here.... you have the choice not my problem im afraid....
Ash's head doesn't seem to have been in the right place and it would not surprise me that this is because Brendan had tried to get him to Liverpool. But as a Swans fan I have to support the club trying to protect its players from poachers. Smaller clubs will always be vunerable to clubs with money to spend. I dread to think how many of our players Brendan might have taken without the 12 mth agreement. So sorry Dai, the club comes before the player. If Ash wants to go after 12 mth then he should contiune to play his best, earn his wage and see who wants him at the end of the season. I understand his ambition but the club has to protect itself, besides i am sure if liverpool had put a big enough offer in, he would have gone even with the 12 mth agreement.
Ivor- i was told that larsen and laudrup see this club as a major oppurtunity to finally prove themselves, im not saying they will be here forever but they see the club as something they can work with and improve! that is key for me. Its the first time they have been given TOTAL control and they want to make it work, Laudrup has taken some tough decisions since coming here, telling tate and monk they are not part of his plans was a bold move but in fairness he also said that if players want to stay and fight for their place he is happy to have them here. Rodgers i sometimes think gave out contracts just to keep the dressing room happy, tom butler being a case in point, rodgers didnt fancy making tough decisions IMO and i think we may well of suffered a bit from that later on.
Norway I heard Dobbie was enjoying the USA night life! but who can blame him aye, after last season under Rodgers. Neathjack, it didn't stop Joe from going, so who cares about Ash, all we want from him, is to put in a decent shift!..................
I'm all ears Norway .... As for Ash ... there is only one way he's going anywhere is to demonstrate that he can play. Based on what I've seen of the Liverpool series, first of all Allen was the first name BR said to Ayres and having seen that episode multiple times I am getting the impression that that was said during the interview; second, BR may be manager but he doesn't say "buy" and they "buy". BR stuck his neck out for Allen and Borini, then sent Carroll off to West Ham. If those two don't pan out to the level that the executives expect I doubt that his next set of requests will be so easily approved. In other words, if Ash is not putting it out for us, there's no chance the L'pool execs would make an offer, even if BR went down on his knees and begged.
None of this is to do with laudrup...its a smoke screen to the more serious issue of the club stopping a player from a dream move.....I knew this agreement was bad news and the players are right to not be happy with it.....the club is wrong full stop and they had better rectify it in January and never agree to try and control a players destiny ever again....It was a stupid move in the first place that was bound to get the players backs up....
Sinclair moved on. I don't see why an agreement, if it exists at all, with one club in a non-compete framework would be an issue. There are plenty of "top" clubs that need better defenders, not just Liverpool. If Ash was really somebody to make a difference then I'm sure other clubs would come calling .... Either they are not interested, or they do not agree with the valuation / release point of the current contract. And the only person who can bump his value is the player himself.
