"I'm very happy with the reaction but we dominated the game.

"They (Coventry) arrived in the first half three times in our box, (and scored) two goals.

"(We were in their box) 32 times and we didn't score. We need a top striker.

    "We have to do more."

Who said this then? PDC of course!!!

roland must not let gt's good work last season go to waste. i want roland to hand over holding folding to the tune of £500k for gt 2 spend on 2 quality strikers, unless our marv, el tel, young tom ,doble and parry come good, roland dry those eyes, you got us in this mess to start with.

what do you go for - two up and coming strikers with no true proven track record or two strikers that have had their glory and are on their way out?

The joke in the top comment is that Paulo Di Cannio has about 7 strikers on his books!

Neither, just go for James Fleetwood at Luton, Tom Pope Port Vale or Matthew Barnes-Homer Macclesfield...its not rocket science!....they would happily move up a couple of divisions for an extra couple hundred quid a week......and they are banging in the goals!!, Ryan Doble, Terry Gornell, and Marvin all seriously misfiring!!...and a cash plus swap deal might help get rid....<whistle>

It is not James Fleetwood. It is Stuart who was an abject failure at League 1 and has had one good season at Forest Green a number of years ago. Pope is an inexcusable diver who had a decent half season at Crewe and again some years ago. Never impressed when up against Shrewsbury either with Rotherham or Vile. Barnes-Homer has never scored in the Football League despite being given opportunities by 3 clubs.

I certainly would not want to spend money on any of them.

Agree with KDS; we should scout a talent and put them alongside an old pro who can still score (I think the latter is harder to find!)

The thing is that there's no guarantee players who bang them in at Conference or even League Two level will do so in League One - Matt Tubbs' disappointing time at Bournemouth is testament to that.

there is a very small gap now between the three leagues as far as skill is concerned, and you must go for the players on form.do you think Doble Bradshaw Morgan Winnall and Gornell are going to get any better?....no show from them today yet again. if it wasn't for Paul Parry we would be right in the doo doo

But Tubbs was on form and has scored fewer goals in 20 odd games for Bournemouth than Morgan has this season in 13/14 games, and that's without all the extra hassle Morgan gives defenders.
