Wondered why a million groups on facebook appeared.

So what happened? Soldiers shoot innocent unarmed non terrorist/insurgent peaceful man. Was he carrying flowers? Cards? Jelly Beans?

Harsh really, he probably had 9 sons who will want to avenge him by killing the next village <ok>

You tell me what's more abhorrent,or thread worthy, some "combatant" killed by Marines, or a 14 year old girl shot in the head because she wants girls to be allowed to go to school?

I don't know the full details of this "alleged" murder but worse things happen every day in Afghanistan and Iraq, heinous crimes perpetrated by evil zealots, and no one bothers condemning them, but one **** - who does not play by the rules - gets slotted and people are supposed to care?

Not me i'm afraid, i'm more concerned about Human rights for people who actually deserve them.

The incident happened in Afghanistan's Helmand province last year, but it is thought investigators only began an inquiry in recent weeks when the "code of silence" among the marines was broken by one of those who is said to have witnessed the alleged crime.

The guys were turned in by a fellow Marine. I wonder what are the odds that the Talib who shot the young lass will be grassed up by his mates?

    Pretty slim i'd say.

The Taleban told America if they produced evidence that Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11 they would hand him over.

No one's doubting that the reason to invade was based on lies and is immoral, possibly illegal. But what would you have them do? Pull out and let Afghanistan go back to being ruled by the Taliban?

The same Taliban who think that women shouldn't be allowed to go to school or have jobs? Who think that it's the woman's fault if she's raped and should be stoned to death?

Whatever the reason for invading the country, if it means an end to Taliban brutality (and that's sadly doubtful) then it will be a just war.

Hardly surprising they got their caves bombed having admitted that Public Enemy Number One was hiding out there.

If freedom for women among others is what the west wants then the could do worse than look closer at some of their allies.

The Taleban will be in power shortly after the west pulls out.
