According to the People newspaper his fall out with the manager will mean he goes in the next window.
Time to start the 'should we have him back debate', They hope to recoup 12 million for him, so that would mean we could have him back for nothing as they probably still owe us that much in installments,I would take him would you ?

I'm not against bringing him back for the despicable way he left, but i'm not sure we'd offer him more than Villa are now, a place on the bench.

Would we play him up front with Fletcher? I doubt it.
Would he replace Fletcher in the team? Not for me, big man management headache.
Would he come back if we approached him? No again.

He'll be off to QPR or Liverpool in January, we are better off saving face, let sleeping dogs lie and not even discussing it.

Come January we need to concentrate on our CM positions, £12M is better spent here.

Wow. I'm just so shocked. Not

He can't seem to settle anywhere can Judas, can he? 2 to 3 years is a lifetime for him and he has fallen out with Arry, Brucey and now Lambo inside 4 years.

Could the problem be him? Silly question as obviously the answer is yes.

Would I want to see a proven, class, 20 goal a season striker back at the club who is still at the peak of his ability? Of course I do as my club would benefit.

Could I ever feel the same way about him? Never, as his comments about joining a 'bigger club at Villa' ( which still make me giggle actually) severed any chance of a return. If if hadn't done that I wouldn't have been so upset at the time. He had it all here and chucked it back in our faces. His loss.

A Fletcher- Bent strike force would be bloody awesome mind.

Offer Villa £8m and if all parties agree, I'd do the deal. There are not a lot of proven top quality strikers available and if he rattled in 10 or 12 goals between January and May, that took us to Europe or won a cup he'd be a hero again.

We shouldn't cut our throats to spite our faces. It's the good of SAFC that matters. That said, I don't think he would come back anyway.

I still maintain this was a major factor in is wanting to leave us and had he just admitted this and done so with more dignity than an embarrassing pre-arranged clandestine meeting in a hotel room with the snail eating prick Houllier, right after a ****ty derby display, he could come back with open arms.

As it is, Bents once blossoming England career has all but gone now (he is back to being 5th choice at best now after Rooney, Defoe, Wellbeck and Carroll) and he is no longer the darling of any club?
However, take the emotion out of the situation and what you have left is hard fact and Bent is a bloody good striker. We need another option or support for Fletcher and for £10 - £12m, it’s a no brainer. Not even a gamble as he would score goals for us.

Bit harsh on Tommy there Cest. As for Bent I'd say no he would want big money and upset the team in the run up to the end of the season. Also don't think he'd come back anyway, Liverpool bound for me until a "bigger" team comes in for him.

It would be a no from me about Bent. History has proven time and again, he could and probably would drop us in the **** again. I've got no doubt about that.

We have moved on since Bent and Fletcher is our darling now, remember the huff when Gyan came and Bent was no longer by far and away our big name. He likes to be the number one and slavered over and that just wouldn't happen now. I still couldnt whole heartedly forgive him either.

Bent would not be the second to fletcher, nor would fletcher be a second to bent...

However if we were to try resign him, technically we could get him on a free due to the clauses they owe us...

We wouldn't get rid of Shola for Bent. Shola doesn't really get relied upon for goals, he's relied upon for his fantastic strength and ability to challenge CB's for the ball.

He may only get 3-4 goals a season, but he gets several assists and does a fantastic job.

I would have him back but I reckon he wants to go to Liverpool - which probably means he will end up at QPR!

Well put it this way. Imagine you had been going out with a fit girl for 2 years. She was a good shag a good cook and everything else a girl.should be. You thought you were reaxy to settle down long term when suddenly she announces shes leaving you for someone you believe she will be worse off with. Not only this but she bad mouths yousaying you have a tiny cock and stuff like this. Suddenly 2 years later you see her again and she says she is willing to come back to you. Would you take ber back? Personally id give her a good hard one last shag and then leave her back where she was. So for me i wouldnt take the tosser back as there is no long term gain and a leopard never changes its spots

He had it made here, a home for life, the chance to be an idol as he so wished, go down in history as something, and he ****ed it.

That said the though of a 4-4-2 spearheaded by Bent & Fletch gives me damp patches.
