well, never been so disappointed at 5-0...shocking performance...or was that because there were 10 men defending in the box for 90 minutes?

Has to be partly down to 10 behind the ball, you could tell why they haven't scored a goal in 4 years <laugh>, anyway that Gareth Bale is some player ;)

Morning all from an overcast Jersey. Earlier this morning, we had a downpour and it's been raining most of the week. This means that there could be an ironic situation where a Jersey Rugby match at home to a Welsh side (Pontypridd) is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch!

I never attended my graduation ceremony - the Uni I went to charged a ridiculously high fee to attend as well as for the gown/mortar board hire - by the time I graduated I was flat broke, up to my eyeballs in debt & simply could't afford it. Given my choices were attending or paying the rent and feeding my kids, it was a no-brainer really. :(

I did not attend mine either BB - for many of the same reasons as you - plus my parents would not have been able to attend. However I have been to all the graduations of my 5 kids and they have been splendid - days to remember

Did take place - 20 all draw and 3 yellow cards but the ref missed 2 blatant high tackles which were both by the same player and as he was sin-binned for something else, he would've had an early bath. There was a Ponty fan moaning about the ref for most of the game stood in front of us who completely overlooked those 2 incidents, even though the Jersey player fouled in the first one had to be substituted.

Well that was some day. 16 small persons at my grand daughters birthday party. She had invited all of her classmates who turned out in force.

I learnt that French children do not know about jelly, traditional fare at an English children's party. To see one six year old trying to suck it up with a straw created some bewilderment amongst those who know that you use a spoon. French children also don't seem to have come across pass the parcel. They learnt quickly when they found out that packets of sweets were in each wrapping. Amazingly every child got a packet. ;)

Just a little Al, except when they were eating. The weather just about behaved for them to be sent outside to the bouncy castle. ;)

In the fields behind their farmhouse I spotted my first new born lamb of the season. That was quite bouncy as well. <laugh>

Did you try them on Jam, Cheese & Pickle or Marmite sandwiches OFH? That would have been a surprise or two!

Marmite is something that some ex-pats crave as it is not sold generally here, although a few shops have appeared selling Wiltshire Pork Sausages, green back bacon, baked beans and Branston Pickle.

I do bring back large quantities of tea bags when I cross the channel and a few other bits and pieces, but generally am more than happy with the normal native fare.
