I hate these people. Mainly because when I leave my office, I have calls diverted to my mobile - hence I'M paying for these irritating calls.

There's little you can do about the overseas ones, just ignore them, especially the ones claiming to be from Microsoft saying you have a virus! The TPS are pretty toothless. Some calls will be stopped, but the unscrupulous ones will continue, even though it is their duty to cleanse their data against the TPS.

The PPI mis-selling nonsense means that £8-9 BILLION has been put aside for claims. Figures show so far around 75% of this has been via claims management companies, so no wonder they won't stop cold calling you, even though you can easily do it yourself. When all this runs out, they will no doubt exploit other ways to relieve you of your hard earned cash! At least it looks as though the Ministry of Justice is finally launching a clampdown on these 'claims chasers'. Utter bastards the lot of 'em!

My best one was when a double glazing salesman phoned asking if i needed new windows, "Funnily enough yes i do ", "Well then i can do you a real good deal, buy the front windows and we give you the back ones free, so how many windows do you have ?" "4 at the front, 5 at the back plus both doors ". He then went on to quote me a price, " How dos' that sound ", brilliant i said but i'm not sure my landlord would pay for it...................deafening silence then.......click.

No you dont there are plenty of isps reselling infinity no one has to use BT at all. Ok its still BT Wholesales gear but you the customer have deck all to do with BT.

Not to mention the horrendous throttling BT do on some downloading activities that other Infinity providers don't do.

I use AAISP business class service, no call centres and they know what they're doing and will kick BT up and down the road if need be

If they ring at meal times we put the phone on the table on speaker phone and just let them listen to our conversation , stops them ringing someone else and they normally have wasted a few minutes with thier pitch before they realise we are talking about school homework :)

Fibre optic Broadband!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the **** are you on about, it doesn't exist, it's myth, as is normal Broadband!!!!
BT tell me I've got Broadband, I keep telling them I haven't, most of the time what they say is Broadband drops out and the dial up thing cuts in, it's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow. They say it's basically my fault for living where I do, technological BLACK hole. Vodafone are the same, no signal most of the time, but if I hang from the bathroom window cill by my toes, point the phone North east, at 3:21pm on a Thursday but only when there's 5 Thursdays in the month, I may get to use my very expensive mobile phone for 22 seconds!!!!!

Of course it bloody exists. Oh as for your broadband problems what fault finding have YOU done, how have you pushed it with BT have you had your line card changed, have you checked and isolated any of your house wiring most of the time bad adsl is internal house wiring and even when it's not a GOOD isp will help you get it sorted out (hint bt are NOT a good isp!!)

If that was a joke sorry went right over my head <laugh>

If you ring Aviva and get the option of which music to chose, select classical and you'll be sent (very quickly) to a UK call centre. They did a lot of research and learned that customers who listen to classical music cost Aviva a large sum of money in dealing with complaints.

I won't tell you how i know this as I could get someone in trouble, but trust me!

You need to raise your head a bit pal!
I don't know where you live, but in the small village where I choose to live, there is NO fibre optic anything, our telephone exchange building was built in the 1940's and resembles a minature house, tiled apexed roof, windows etc, the only thing it doesn't have is a Chimney!!!
I've complained to BT and guess what???? I got 4 phone calls from India, 3 of them at 6:30 in the morning!!!!!! There's NO cable anything either, and I've had to spend a fortune on boosters and aerials just to get Freeview on my telly. So NO I don't believe there's Broadband, well not for me anyway!
I love where I live it's idylic, it's my choice, but all I want is to treated the same as everyone else, normal Broadband would do to start with!!

Tell them you live in Broadland and they will cock up the address anyway and I reckon you'll bet Broadband instead.

ILD Iused to live in Sedgeford near Hunstanton and know exactly what you mean but quite honestly the views, the peace and scenery made it little more than a minor annoyance
