City fan Vinnie(who some of you may already come across, with his 'I'm Not From America, I'm from Hull' track) is working on some new stuff, some of which he hopes will be adopted on the terraces. He's looking at songs with a Hull connection, so is working with stuff by the Housemartins, the Spiders from Mars and Mike Waterstone. This is a work in progress... http://vinnieandthestars.bandcamp.com/album/from-boothferry-to-wembley Listen quick, this is just a first take, it will be pulled later today.
The Housemartins one had it's moments, but the "I'm not American, I'm from Hull" song was poor. Think i'd rather have a drum banging at the back of the stand than that blaring out.
Vinnie seriously thinks we could sing this ? i'm absolutely gutted for anyone who thinks this is good !!!
I'm not from America isn't one of the options, he did that ages ago, it's only the Happy Hour one that he's working on for City games.

I preferred the chant to caravan of love. Every women, every man, join the transit van from Hull etc.
I appreciate what Vinnies trying to do, but in all honesty cant see it on the terraces, but stranger things do happen all the time..
i heard the happy hour and i am not from america tracks from CI earlier. obviously vinnie is a regular on there but i ve heard the waterson cover from here thanks to OLM. sorry the original is unbeatable as it is. this cover does nowt for me vinnie if your reading?
Now I'm not a fan of scotish football or Hibs but I think Sunshine On Lieth is a fantastic anthemn. All the good ones are very slow and sentimental like You'll Never Walk Alone or Wet Spams bubbles. Need to be thinking along them lines if we want a song to call our own that everybody can sing. Caravan of love is closer to the mark but it's still a bit too snappy for you daft lot in the east stand to get into the rythym of if you know what I mean. No offence intended of course but it's hard to get a few thousand fans on the same beat if you know what I mean. PS Our Vinnie is a fine musician and a great lad if you get a chance to go see him play do it you will be very impressed Oh yeah...Sunshine On Leith for your listening pleasure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKpJarMYxE8&feature=related
have you seen the john collins blubbering version which is the live footage from the post match BBC coverage. half of my family are from gorgie road, a spit from tynecastle, and my dad played for the jambos, but sorry dad that anthem is quality. he'd turn in his grave
Having said all that about a slow song another Proclaimers tune would sound fantastic if we could get it right. I would walk 500 miles And I would walk 500 more Just to see you walk on to the pitch And to cheer the tigers when the score. Da di da da etc Well it has possibilities but no local conection http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJuyn0WAYNI&feature=related
