Agree, it wasn`t a penalty, and Scotland scored a perfectly good second goal. Typical bad luck story. Truth is neither keeper had much to do, and Wales deserved something out of the game on the balance of play.

Scotland & Wales may as well just give up international football. I'd respect them a lot more if they did.

There was obviously that stone wall penalty Wales should have got before the one that was given. But considering Scotland should have been 2-0 up and would have shut up shop they deserved at least a draw if not more.

Because they will be accepting that its utterly pointless for them to be trying to get to World/Euro finals. They never will. Plus, its clear that most of their players really don't want to play for their national team anymore. Plus they find it harder and harder to sell tickets for their games.

Living on past memories, like England do, is all they have.

I would be interested to know the pass completion for England, sadly it will not be as high as a Spain or Germany.

Thought Baines was England's best player and that Shelvey did well. I must admit I was very disappointed with our right hand side, Lennon but especially Walker was poor; he seems massively overrated to me. He can attack but against better teams he would be shredded.

Just got back from the game. The atmosphere was truly terrible, like a morgue, how did it sound on tv? England looked very one dimensional and seemed to be looking to go through the middle where there were about 8 or 9 shirts in a small area. The mitigating factor for us was that San Marino are not interested in a game their banks of 4 and 5 didn't move more than ten yards forwards and backwards all game. That can not be easy to play against so 5 nil was a professional job but definitely not exciting.

Cleverly had the best completion with 97% and made 33 passes more than anyone else (145), 2 assists, 7 key passes and 3 tackles. Rooney was England's lowest with 79%. He was the only England player under 88% . One San Marino player had 88% at LM which was very high considering they had 54% as a team, he made 4 interceptions also (Gasperoni). He only made 16 passes which is laughably low but he did his best with what he got of the ball and was the only San Marino player to make a key pass.

By the way England had 86% possession and 91% passing accuracy

91% passing accuracy flatters England. They had very little opposition preasure to cope with so there's less reason for the passes to not hit their target.

We won and thats important but I'd be more impressed if England's pass completion figure compares well with their peers when they play San Marino

Didn't see the game live but just sat through what were supposed o be HIGHLIGHTS. 35 mins to score against San Marino and the it ha to be a penalty. Thought England looked poor. Will have to do much better if the want anything from Poland.

I was disappointed that wellbeck got motm. Yep he scored 2 goals, but his first touch throughout the game was abysmal!

I thought the majority of our players showed a poor first touch last night. It evidenced my long time belief that technique is overlooked in England at grass roots level, where strength, speed and winning comes first.

Agree our touch was very poor. How many would Spain have scored?!

See the U21's had a good win last night. Sterling was apparently outstanding.

Probably agree with you there. Although thought Baines and OXO played well.
