Oh dear, I do hope that you feel better in the morning Al. <ok>

I have just had my first dose of physio, and for the first time in seven weeks have actually walked on two legs, even if it was with the aid of crutches. Massage first to get my foot back to the proper angle, then tests to see how much weight I can put on the foot. All ok, so then she had me walking. In that short period I had forgotten to bend my knee to do it and my wife thought it extremely funny.

Three sessions next week and as soon as the last of the scabs come off the war wound I have to go swimming to strengthen the leg muscles up again. So all round feeling hopeful that the worst is over.;)

The only thing I have done is catching up with holiday washing and cooked myself some turkey mince and turkey chilli which is not easy when you cannot hold a knife properly but I still have my all fingers!:D

I still have not got full range of movement with my elbow, I struggle to lift fork or spoon to my mouth with my right hand<laugh> It is ok cutting cooked meat and veg but when I prepped my food earlier I cut with my left hand;) I am just hoping tomorrow that it will be more usable so I can get dressed in at least jeans, perhaps try and shave (thank god for trackie bottoms and t-shirts)<laugh>

No they did not warn me it would be like this, I will not be having another one that is for sure<grr> Dressing was easy, jogging bottoms and a t-shirt though the t-shirt did cause me an issue<laugh> I would not have been able to do my tie to go to work that is for sure;)

morning Al, i hope all is well now and that you're back to full, flexible health ;).

It's monday, and with every new monday, there's a new beginning! lol. Here i am, starting diet number 7,533,503,348! Fingers crossed this one works! I've had a bit of a carb binge since the bat mitzvah and put on heaps of weight, so it's almost like starting again! 2 stone to lose...but 1½ will do, as per!

This is the one H, this one will work if you want it to;)

My mate has just come back from doing a triathlon in Cyprus and has another spinning DVD which he will copy when he goes home this weekend. So I have not forgotten about it, he is just dragging his feet;) Will let you know when it is done.

As for me I feel right as rain, did 45 mins on the Ex bike last night and did another hour this evening;)

I wouldn't mind betting that I'll have to start a diet tomorrow. Am off to my GP tomorrow to start the ball rolling for knee replacement surgery, having reached the stage where stairs are just about impossible for me. Both knees need doing but whether or not they get done at the same time I've no idea. And weight loss will figure largely in the discussions, I'm sure. :(

BB, I know I have been waxing lyrical about 'myfitnesspal' but it actually works for me, I get sufficient calories and I don't really have to scrimp on portion sizes as long as you do exercise.

I hope you can get the op you need, I now use the lift or escalator rather than take the stairs, if you had said that a couple of years ago I would have laughed in your face. Where I work is on the third floor and I refuse to go up and down the stairs if I need to go anywhere during the day. I do my exercise but it does irritate and aggravate my knees but if I just do it, where as before I would give up as soon as I felt any pain. Not sure of the long term but it is working for me short term!

I haven't been near the scales since my enforced idleness, but have tried to keep the weight under control by eating a little less.

It seemed far better than giving up the Bordeaux. <cool>

Stairs have been a problem here, but I can get up them now by sitting on the treads. Not elegant, but effective. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

this one will definitely work, it's very similar to the last one, which worked, so i know this will be ok, it's just a bit tougher, but hopefully it'll get me past that plateau barrier. Thanks for not forgetting the DVD, i'm looking forward to that! Today i've walked for an hour and a half, in 3 separate stints, which apparently works better..who knows, everyone is an expert! lol...i'll just try it and see how it goes...it's got to be better than what i've been doing since the BM anyway! lol

Good luck BB...if you need encouragement and support, Al's your man! ;)

Referral to the local hospital for x-rays on both knees to assess how much deterioration over the last two years - and pain killers. :( Having listened to the noises coming from my knees, he does seem to think that referral to an orthopaedic surgeon will be likely, but how long that will take is anyone's guess.
