Considering he is constantly fouled by every team he comes up against, Messi's temperament is probably second-to-none. For me this is the side that really let's Ronaldo down. If he kept his head better he'd achieve even more.

Add to the fact that the poor man only gets 200k a week, so it's normal for him to feel sad <laugh>. I'd like to feel sad like that all the time.

The most complete footballer I've ever seen is Zidane, I rate him even higher than messi. Just a shame he lost it in his final game.

Yeah, and Messi can do things Ronaldo can't. Messi's ball control is out of this world. Ronaldo's is good, but Messi is on a different level when it comes to ball control and dribbling.

That was a beautiful end to his career. Have you seen the statue? I agree though, he was amazing.

Yes, sir! I agree with you there. Zidane was way better than Messi and Ronaldo.

Yeah, I think it'd be ok though. He'd just glide past the big stoke players gracefully and elegantly like he always did.

You do realise that's mainly due to height right? Ronaldo is much taller than Messi. Smaller players are generally better dribblers as their stride length is shorter and their eyes are closer to the ball. Despite this Ronaldo is still capable of scoring solo goals dribbling past several players as well, which was my point. Messi can't score from 30+ yards..Ronaldo can do it on his weak foot. If Ronaldo was Messi's height he'd have improved ball control but he'd lose attributes like height, strength, speed. If they were the same height and build or at least similar they'd be easier to compare in general. Messi is disadvantaged because of his build and height, lack of strength. Isn't his fault he's not as tall (although it is his fault that his shot power is low, that could easily be improved through hard work. same as strength) but it's why Ronaldo is a better all-round player.

Messi doesn't need to. He can just go straight past the defence and then produce an outrageous finish to beat the keeper. Although there is one thing Messi isn't great at - penalties. Nor is Ronaldo come to that, he's missed a fair few.

Look up Ronaldo's penalty stats. He's a good penalty taker..

Messi has only ever played at the sharp end of the best team in the world. Ronaldo has proved he can score a **** ton of goals who ever he plays for! I don't know who is better, I'd like them both at Southampon :p

When has Ronaldo played for a sub-standard team? Saying that, maybe it doesn't matter who he plays for as he just ignores all his teammates anyway.

There's not much between them, but I'd go with Messi. There are a lot of aspects that Ronaldo is better at-he's a better penalty taker, possibly free kick taker, got a bit more strength (that's when he wants to stay on his feet!) and is better in the air due to his height.

Ronaldo appears to be more skillful, but he has to do all these step overs to get past players, Messi just tricks players and forces them to commit themselves, which he is able to do so well because he has a low centre of gravity and he also has a bit more pace. Messi actually scores less tap ins than Ronaldo, I remember reading that based on the 2010-11 season and also that he was set up less by Xavi and Iniesta than Ronaldo was by Ozil and Di Maria! Messi tracks back a lot more and has a better football brain, Ronaldo tends to drift out wide and wait for the ball, whereas Messi moves all over the pitch and gets into positions. Ronaldo and Messi tend to score quite evenly (albeit Ronaldo's shot to goal ratio isn't that good), but Messi sets up a lot more than Ronaldo does.
