Lampard and Bertrand have both pulled out of the game.

thinking more about the game against us, do you think?

let's hope Bale, Walker etc do the same!

Bertrand has a sore throat <laugh>

To be fair, it sounds as if they're both going to be available for the Poland game. I expect the "knocks" to come thick and fast over the weekend and on Monday.

    yep! well said.

I'm still with SOS on this one. we should be using some players who wouldn't normally get the chance. no professional footballer at prem or championship level should be bad enough to let San Marino cause an upset.

there's a lot of us who are petrified of injuries over the next 2 games, what ever country their club players happen to be playing for.

All the Chelsea players pulling out with non-existent problems, whereas Bale can't train due to a heel injury and he's still going to play. <doh>

Rooney is Captain. Not that it means much for such a game. But no idea how someone who so regularly underperforms for the national team gets anywhere near it. You can be certain however that if he gets a hat trick the media will be announcing that "Rooney is back", whilst if Crouch scores against San Marino the talk is only of "he can only score against lesser opposition". Crouch has been treated appallingly by England, his record is astonishing and the only argument I can think of against him is that "he looks wrong" and people can't work out how he's scored so many international goals. You know what? I don't care, it's a fact. At least Crouch scores against somebody, something we generally miss in tournaments (particularly South Africa).

According to Sky Sports Welbeck will start ahead of Defoe and it looks like Lennon's just making up the numbers in the squad. Walker starts though.
