He said he always liked Rangers. I was not aware he travels up to go to games. What I am saying is that I know Norwich fans that travel up and I doubt a statement from Charlie would put them off Rangers. Do you think Villa supporting Gers fans will no longer go to Rangers games? Na, me neither.
Ok so I'll clear this up. No I do not travel up for games but if I come up to Scotland on business or pleasure then I do look to see if there is a game on I could get to. Will I now, no. Having said that I think your right it's not going to make a huge difference to your club. However, it doesn't cast yourselves in a good light within the footballing community. Lets see how much the price goes up when you want to buy players from these clubs your fellas insulted or see how easy it is when you want loans. You best not hope that some of these chairmen of other clubs don't hold some influence over big businesses, sponsors, FIFA, UEFA etc. Football is a small industry and it is unwise to insult others on such a large scale. My friend, I believe you are making a mountain out of a molehill. Football incase you haven't noticed is a global industry. That's why in football we have backers, investors, players, chairmen, sponsors etc from all over the world. Has anyone in football, chairmen, manager, player etc ever said anything bad about Southampton?
Not saying its a huge deal but it certainly isn't a wise thing to do. The fact that alot of the fans seem to like him for coming out with these statements is a bit worrying. Surely you'd rather have a well run and well liked club? Football is a global industry but everyone knows everyone. All im saying is it doesnt make good business sense to go around insulting other clubs. Things come back to bite you in this life
