    That bodyline series must have been something else. From what I've read, both governments even open files on the subject. At the Adelaide test when Woodfull copped it in the chest at around his heart area, causing him to double over in pain, Jardine was heard say to Larwood. "Well bowled Harold." The crowd were incensed. In the same innings, Bert Oldfield had his skull fractured. Amazing times.

    Jardine's head master once said "he might win us the Ashes but he could also lose us an empire". He wasn't far off.

    I love everything about that series and the implications and repercussions - the book "Bodyline Autopsy" is brilliant and well worth a read
