Does anyone play? Anyone any decent, on which sites? I have started to play on SkyPoker and I am ****e in the 2p/4p rooms but quite decent in the 15p/30p rooms, how the fook does that work? I tell mesen tis cos of my intermediate skills being lost on all the idiot callers in the 2/4p ****hole.

PS, I realise there is a lot of my (half) fellow Scottish posters on here that wouldn't bet one of their arseclinkers on pocket aces, and I accept that. You keep on profiting from your deep fried Whispers.

You're playing at monopoly money level

Move up to a level where you can make an acceptable target amount per day and only play the top hands - any pair, any suited Ace, AK - AT

    My mind has been blown.

And Molti, I'm still backing Grayson, just written a thread about the future on the Leeds sub-forum. Took me about half an hour to write. <laugh>

Fully aware of Poker strategy, and 15/30p blinds can become £10 pots easy. And I wouldn't play any pair either, depending on position and all that ****.

Half hour?! I'll respond, though I'm expecting a Rembrandt version of a stereotypical (what a ****er he is) loyal leeds fan post. And I wouldn't say I back Grayson, I more back sticking with the same manager and not sacking him for Gus, who will leave a year later for Spurs when the tax dodger gets the England job.

Ah, you are on NL then

In that case position is less important than odds

The chances of hitting 3 of a kind at the river are 11/1, so that is to be taken into consideration with a pair

    OK maybe a small exaggeration.

True, it irks me how people are calling for him to come back. Then again, I've also seen calls for George Graham and Sam Allardyce to take over at Elland Road over the last few days so Poyet looks like one of the better suggestions.

I suspect you are partly correct.

Without wanting to sound condescending how long have you been playing and are you actually any good? Seriously.

If you are a decent player with sevral years experience then chances are that your subtle play is wasted in the peanut tables, mugs tend to call with almost anything but can beat you on the flop turn or river cards. It does not happen as often as we'd think, but because it hurts we tend to remember them more.

If you are not that great a player then the higher stake tables are probably just running lucky just now but that could change in a heartbeat.

Not at all I understand the response.

Um I have been playing poker very lightly on and off for several years, but never online, and have just started getting into playing online and therefore have looked up strategy etc re tight play, not limping, continuation betting and the best 15 or so starting hands, so (maybe stupidly so) I would consider myself above the micro stakes tables, which is where I always get ****ing beat by idiots. I think I read up up on poker strategy too much before playing in the micro stakes, or I may be just crap, but I have an A Level Maths! So surely that cannot be!!

As you are now no doubt aware internet play is a different animal entirely, lots of maniacs who tend to get lucky, i never let it get to me because if I did I would never play again. I NEVER go on tilt, it's a death sentence.

One bit of advice I would offer is never play more than 1% of your total bankroll in any one game. Apart from that you sound as if you know what you are doing. I sometimes play sky poker in the low stakes double your money (about £1.15).

Perhaps we should arrange to meet on a table sometime and i'll mark give my opinion on your play.

Mate I would appreciate that as I have this (maths A-level again (and the Mafia connections)) thing going on in my head that I could get quite decent at it. Any tips would be welcome. Poker is weaning me off the wine. That's the biggest compliment I can give it.

I've been playing online poker for a couple of years now. I'm not really a fan of cash games, I prefer tournaments. For say a $1 dollar buy in, you get to to take your time. If you can double up early, then tighten yout game, you'll just about make it into the money. Poker is about the long term objecrive. Get into the money as often as you can, most of the time the return will be small, but you will in the end crack a decent return, which will then set you up for more of the same.

Stay tight, never tilt, be patient. Patience is the key. Good luck.
