Now that's what I call inflation. Bates bought us for a quid not so long back! I would have much more faith in GFH if they had just said - "we are in delicate negotiations and we would be very grateful if LUST did not queer our pitch by publicising elements of the deal - however they get hold of their information - before we have had the chance to conclude them." Of course, it could be that Bates has them over a barrel on some things, so they can't say such independent stuff, and must just toe the Bates line I've no idea really, but DMD makes a great post above
Ultimately, we are the fans, we are the club. We should never compromise or surrender. If someone gets in our way in the crusade for glory and self-determination - whether that be Ken Bates, GFH Capital, overpaid or underperforming players, the FA or anything else - we will fight it until it's kicked into the long grass. When the anti-Leeds forces are trying to divide the Leeds forces, we can either stick together and get behind the group that represents our needs, wants and interests - THE SELFLESS, or we can side with parasitical owners, no matter how noble they claim their intentions be - THE SELFISH. The choice is yours, lads. But I implore you to bear in mind those famous words of King Billy - SIDE BEFORE SELF.
We should dump Bates in a tub of Lampreys so he knows what its like to be fed off and drained and tell him to deal with it.
He'd manage to convince half of the lampreys that the other half were trying to kill them, and jump out of the tub as they fought among themselves.
Whilst renting the tub to them at an honest rate I'm sure and also selling off the dead to TC and co as a tasty addition to there pie and mash
As I see it, it is several scenarios on how you can look at the statement from GFH and Bates. 1. GFH is telling the truth and have never been in contact with LUST. That means LUST is lying to make themselves more important than they actually are. This would be very bad for LUST as nothing they say can be trusted and GFH would have their credibility intact. 2. LUST is telling the truth and has been in contact with GFH. GFH are lying because they donât want to be caught breaking the confidentiality agreement that could put the supposed takeover in jeopardy. This would be very bad for GFH putting them on the wrong foot with the fans even before they eventually bought the club. But LUST would keep their credibility and even maybe get more fans to join the organization. 3. Both LUST and GFH are telling the truth. GFH have never been in contact with LUST and LUST has been speaking to someone pretending to be working for GFH. This would be less damaging for LUST but would make them a bit naïve for not getting conformation form their source that he or she actually works for GFH. GFH would come out of this with their credibility intact. 4. Or both LUST and GFH are telling the truth. LUST have been in contact with someone working at GFH but very low in the hierocracy as an office worker that has in some way information about the takeover. Both LUST and GFH would come out of this with their credibility intact. 5. LUST is telling the truth and GFH are lying. GFH would deliberately lie knowing they would be found out and caught. They would do this because they needed a way out of the deal. By claiming that they donât have the backing and support of the fans and in that way backing out of the deal not having to pay any money. Because they could not get the founding to pay for the takeover. This would destroy any wishes by GFH to take over Leeds for the foreseeable future. There are probably more scenarios than this, but this could be some ways to look at the statements. None of these scenarios would make a healthy relationship between LUST and GFH. But however you look at it, one of LUST or GFH will not come out of this unscarred. Someone will get very damaged after this statement, but who it will be only time can tell. I personally donât think GFH would lie about this as they would know it could come back and haunt them. It would also put them in a very bad spot towards the fans and they could get all the fans against them even before they have started.
Think LUST may have been speaking to the wrong person in GFH, and used "maybes" and "could be's" as fact. Haigh is clearly upset because the crap LUST have been talking has prompted his statement. LUST have no future with the new owners, and why would they? They come across as self-serving trouble makers. Bye bye LUST, don't forget to turn the lights off before you close the door.
