Michael Lennart Svensson at the ripe old age of 36 plays for Halmstads BK.

Pele (our one not the real one) has plummeted down the leagues and is now plying his trade for Hayes and Yeading!

Sometimes, it does feel as if half of the football world has played for Southampton FC, at some point. ;)

Looking at this list doesn't detract from that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Southampton_F.C._players

And that would be who..? I'm guessing John Fashanu, but he isn't that famous. Unless you had someone else in mind.

Never saw the programme. ITV was it..?

Anyway, in that case, there is a wee ex-Saints link. His departed brother Justin, played for Saints on-loan and did very well too.

He was only released at the end of last season. Are you mistaking his name for someone else or are you a very, very new supporter..? ;)

He was one goal off the Wessex League record last season. And if I hadn't flagged one of his offside, he would have got it :D not entirely sure why he is not in the football league now.

Must be some reason why a Div 1 or 2 side haven't taken a chance on him. maybe he wouldn't pass the medical?

Hey..! Remember a certain Rickie Lambert, or a Kevin Phillips..? There are some players who come into their own at certain stages of their careers, or they get that certain something/circumstance/instruction/whatever, and it clicks. And now the lad is on fire. I see he is currently 7 goals from 8 appearances this season. I wondered earlier if people were looking at him, but really somebody must be taking note of his form.

BTW Qwerty, would you have flagged him offside if you'd known, at the time..? Of course you would have. Play up and play the game, eh..? ;)
