Chester and Bruce due back for Ipswich. Dudgeon possibly available for Ipswich(though I doubt it). Koren's injury is not quite as bad as first thought, though it still looks like we've lost him a couple of weeks. Cairney and Hobbs could be back in six weeks. Just Fryatt that's potentially out for months. http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-17065260-detail/story.html?
after saturday, present injuries and the replacements we have available, i think we have seen the last of 3-5-2 for while
Would the Bristol City game be a realistic target for Koren and Dudgeon? Good news about Cairney and Hobbs as well.
Im pretty sure the only reason we play 3-5-2 is to accomodate Koren and with him out we'll stick with 4-4-2.
When we got Faye, wasn't it stated he can either play centre back or defensive mid-field, if that the case, maybe he moves into mid-field and the back 2 are Hobbs/Chester/Bruce?
Interesting to think what he'll do against Ipswich defence-wise. Four fit defenders, Chester, Faye, Bruce, McShane. Obviously his first choice is Chester/Faye/Bruce, but can you really drop McShane after two excellent performances? I personally don't think he should, and if he'd going with three then it has to be Chester/Faye/McShane. If he's going with two then it gets even more interesting. The obvious choice would be Chester/Faye, but McShane/Faye did pick up a very rare clean sheet at the weekend. Interesting stuff, as they say.
Then you'd be leaving out Olofinjana who's been (IMO of course) one of our best players this season. If it was 4-4-2 then I'd probably go with Koren and Oli in the middle, not the greatest defensively I'd admit, but I don't think McKenna or Evans are good enough to warrant being in the side instead of Koren or Oli. If we had a decent defensive midfielder I'd be tempted to drop Koren.
so olofinjana and mcshane are two of our current best players according to you... says it all really!
I might be wrong, but I think it was more than once. He didn't look comfortable there, however many times it was.
anyone see that funny moment when McShane ventured too far into the Wendies' half with the ball, got a nose-bleed and did a U-turn..? comedy plus.
