'Brushathon' for local primary school children held at QPR FC. YOUNGSTERS came together to brush their teeth for two minutes at Loftus Road stadium last week to raise awareness of the importance of dental hygiene.

Children took part in a Brushathon at the home of QPR FC, in Shepherd's Bush, on Wednesday (10/10) as part of the Keep Smiling pilot, started by Hammersmith and Fulham Council and the local NHS in March this year, to tackle poor oral health in the borough.

Just under half of children in H&F have experience of tooth decay when they start school and all primary school pupils in the borough will be receiving a free toothbrush, pack of toothpaste and tips on looking after their teeth.

Fluoride varnishishing and toothbrushing programmes were held in five schools and a children’s centre in the White City area earlier this year.
