FWIW I was told that Rodger's and Allen had agreed a move before he finalised his signing for Liverpool as Manager. Whether Jenkins was privvy to that I don't know. Thats from a Liverpool first team player who I assume, given Brendan's mouth, came straight from the Manager himself. From eeverything I heard over the Summer, and stuff I've learned since, I certainly don't think there was any 'hostile' nature to Allen's transfer to LFC. I think Swan's would be a little dismayed if it came out that Jenkins and the club were actually quite complicit in the deal being made. I think their infamous 'statement' was just to appease their fans. I also know now from a LFC source and a Spurs source that Tottenham tried very hard to sign Allen but were told from the off that he was following Rodger's and that was his only way he was leaving Swansea which leads me to think there is defo something in the idea that Rodger's and Allen had a gentlemans agreement on a move before Rodger's was even fully installed as LFC Manager.
Toela it's nigh on a certanty Rodgers tapped up Allen before he went, but regarding Swansea and HJ being complicit, that doesn't wash especially as we had first the agreement touted throughout the media, then the wrangling over the fee, plus Rodgers interfearing with the attempted Sigurson deal, which definately soured things and then your own Lawyer stated that it had been a difficult deal. Sorry to burst your bubble pal and I think the majority of fans know which way they look at Rodgers' actions.
