Collins John He has signed for Barnet (and he really is only 26) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2207084/Collins-John-signs-League-Two-Barnet.html?openGraphAuthor=%2Fhome%2Fsearch.html%3Fs%3D%26authornamef%3DJames%2BAndrew
Can't believe Collins John was still contracted to us until 2009. Seems much longer (primarily as he spent the last two years on loan...)
Sean Davis Sadly has had to retire altogether because of injury. However, he's looking forward to coming to the Cottage again as a fan - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11681/8109794 And here is that goal aainst Blackburn as a wee reminder of his time with us - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0f2-xcR7oE&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Whilst not strictly an old boy Aleksey Smertin has pursued a career in politics after retiring from football, and was elected an MP in russia
Luis Boa Morte is training with Portsmouth. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19747616 Bit of a gripe at the BBC. They list him as 'the former Arsenal, West Ham and Southampton forward'. He played more games for us than he did for all of those teams put together! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Boa_Morte
They are so annoying Captain, like the guy commentating on our game against Wigan. At one point he said, " "and it's not so long ago that these two clubs were in the bottom tier of the football league" - ughh, even I can't remember how "long ago". Our 13th continuous year in the Premiership, that I do remember. Only 7 others currently in the Premiership can match that (Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, ManU and Spurs). So annoying !!
Not sure if he would be classed as a "Golden" Oldie but Jimmy Bullard announced his retirement today... I met him at the V-Festival a few years ago just after he got sacked from Hull⦠I said I had a Season Ticket at Fulham and asked if he would buy me a beer, he did and my girlfriend too (well he gave us the beer tokens) he asked if we wanted an autograph and I said no chance. He laughed and wandered off. He received a lot of bad press (some deserved) but seemed like a decent bloke⦠and his Misses was stunning.
There was an nice article on the FFC site, including a remainder of the Survival Day goal at Pompey. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/september/19/jimmys-view C O Y W
And even when he played for us it was on the wing or bench! Know you guys are coming down on Saturday, are you feeling confident, your side is doing well under Jol . Ps. what ever happened to Thomas Radzinski?!
That takes the biscuit TMHAL. Here's a little giggle with Jimmy - http://www.talksport.co.uk/magazine/virals/121002/video-jimmy-bullards-funniest-moments-182168
Papa Bouba Diop He looks set to join Birmingham on a short term loan to join up with Lee Clark - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2215026/Papa-Bouba-Diop-set-join-Birmingham.html?openGraphAuthor=%2Fhome%2Fsearch.html%3Fs%3D%26authornamef%3DSportsmail%2BReporter Fond memories.
Louis Boa Morte His training spell with the Club (and the old boys network) seems to have paid off, Louis has signed for Chesterfield - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2215797/Luis-Boa-Morte-signs-Chesterfield.html?ITO=1490&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Bend it Like Boa Here is a compilation video of Luis' time at Fulham. It's worth the watch just to see John Terry's face - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JTmxIuVvCFE
Michael Brown's currently in Sheffield punching the **** out of a fruitmachine that won't take 5ps. Probably.
Paul Peschisolido Reports say that Pesky (always have as much of a problem with his name as Kaka's) is the hot tip for the Canadian national job. Loved him and his goals when he was with us, so hope it come off for him. Not sure what partner Ms Brady will say about moving away from 'Project Wembley' though. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/16229/8179207
Steed Malbranque seems to be enjoying football again and going great guns for Lyon. There even talk about him getting a call up for France, and he's only 32 ! http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/clubfootball/news/newsid=1839590.html?cid=rssfeed&att=
Yes, Steed was great. I was always a bit disappointed that he never got his chance with France (or, for that matter, Belgium - I gather he was eligible for either). It's only one of his team-mates calling for him to be included in the French squad, so I'm not getting my hopes up for him. It'd be nice though.
