Pleased to see he has done the sensible thing and apologised to the FA, thus avoiding a ban and /or fine. It must have been difficult to do, when his tweet was both truthful and accurate, the FA are a useless bunch of twats !!! Nevertheless hope he learns to control his public outbursts in future, it gets you nowhere, ask Rio. Time RDM banned all our players from Twitter and Facebook, they're just forums to confirm that too many players are as immature as the the public think. Still credit where it's due, well done AC ( or whoever made him apologise )
Yep kudos to Ashley! To be fair, our players that have twitter are mostly foreign except the younger ones and merely use them as fan pages to post info about events etc etc. Hazard for example, he won't say anything bad about someone like Cole did, we English are far too arrogant I do agree with you though CP, no player should have twitter, it does no good to someone of Cole's profile, only bad. Does make me chuckle at times though... Anyone read this absolute piss piece of journalism regarding Cole? Only the mail could use another man's glittering career to snipe at someone else's http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...dignified-way-sharp-contrast-Ashley-Cole.html
CP--I think since all this blew up the club must have introduced a new set of rules on the use of social media and twittering! Its locking the door after the horse has bolted I know, but these high profile people cant utter or type a word without the rest of the world knowing about it!
Too true, all the more reason for them to stay away from Twitter etc. No matter what they say, some plonker in the media will spin and twist it so it seems like they are calling in a napalm airstrike on a childrens hospital !!!! My mate JR reckons Twitter is a format for the unintelligent failures of the world to prove it !!!!
I'm sure Twitter would and should have been banned by all managers immediately but such is player power that they can't really stop them. I don't even understand what's to like about Twitter so much? It just seems like you get to post tedious drivel, accidently give away tactical information and get in arguments you later have to delete whilst trolls are sending you sick messages when you have a family tragedy. I don't really go on Twitter but do players put up sponsorhip stuff through their Twitter? I could understand their reluctance to stop using it if they're making money from it.
YV, I don't get it myself but can only imagine it is something to do with footballer's over merited sense of importance. For 90 minutes on a saturday they are heroes but who frankly gives a **** about what the Rooney's are watching on a saturday night or if Rio's got the ****s again!?!?
Twatter is a pointless creation. If you want to talk to someone then go out and socialise. It's a form of stalking. That's my take on it.
Bit ironic when you're posting on a forum, eh? I know what you mean though. There is some interesting stuff on Twitter but the amount of crap you have to wade through to find it makes it all a bit pointless to me.
Ashley cole chelsea legend. when ever i hear his name all i ever think of is the moment he buried that penalty !! who cares what he say's or does off the pitch.
