Bit like when Gerrard used to dive....he was never slated either and was a "golden boy".

    Divers are slated...not just Suarez.
Ashley Young, Jenkinson (arsenal), Drogba, Oscar, Bale, Eduardo etc. have all been slated in recent years.

The reason the suarez dive took such a high profile this week was:

    1) it was blatantly pathetic

    2) Pullis decided to make a big deal of it to distract from Huth using suarez as a carpet.

Just another of my fans. <ok>

On topic, I dont think anyones trying to drive him out of the game, hes just not helping himself very much. Hes not the first player to suffer similar treatment either but alot of the stuff he gets grief for is down to him first and foremost.

I dont think anyone who hang their heads if he did leave England though. Where he would go is another matter.

You're burying your head in the sand rcl, Suarez was referred to before during and after JT's case(Suarez served his ban and paid his fine so why?), Suarez was used by name by a member of Fifa on monday in a discussion about punishing divers, he said he'd seen the examples from last weekend in the prem so why single Suarez out and not mention Bale?

Pullis is a hypocritical gobshite and was praising Crouch's handball(cheating)for his goal a week earlier.

Bottom line is Suarez does dive he also gets the living **** kicked out of him in most games and gets no protection from referees due to their agenda becoming more obvious with every game.

So you can honestly say Ronaldo got the same amount of **** for his diving at Utd?, and can you honestly say JT has had the same amount of grief from the same people as Suarez did after Evragate?

I can because its true. Ronaldo was also kicked to death, probably more so than Suarez but guess what, he got on with it and became the best player in the world while at United.

In Ronaldos early years he was treated as if he was a plague to the game.

    Drogba was also crucified.

Ashley Young, he single handedly debunked the myth that English players are immune to criticism from diving.

On the race subject, John Terry is probably despised as much as anyone in the game.

What do you base the OTT hate of Suarez on? The press/media? The most popular paper in the UK sells like 3million copies, it speaks for barely anyone in this country. Plus just dont pay attention to them, the exist to piss you off.

My point is...the press decide who their bad boys and golden boys are at a particular time...that's why I mentioned that Gerrard was NEVER vilified for his blatant dives...cos he was the golden boy...while non Brits were pilloried for it like Pires for example.

Bale has been slaughtered in the past and has been criticised in the media this week too (although not like Suarez).

I think Pullis is clearly doing what all managers do...throwing out diversions to get the attention away from his players outragous behaviour.

But the post was about Suarez being driven out of football in England....the answer is simple....If he did not dive he'd not be getting all this ****.

As for the Terry and Suarez stuff....it was obviously going to happen.

The press have laid into many others in the past but have never driven anyone out...they simply leave to join a better club or to get more money.

Re your point on Ronaldo, a former referee gives his take on the Suarez situation and uses his time as a ref to say that Ronaldo was a diver(under the managership of Fergie)and also uses Ferguson's 'Suarez dives all over the place' as if it was some guideline for referees to follow.

Little bit of hypocrisy there then.

"It's not surprising this situation has occurred. Suarez has been cautioned three times for simulation, twice last season and once this, making him the most cautioned player for that offence. Last season, Sir Alex Ferguson accused him of diving 'all over the place'.
"Referees hate being duped and would rather miss a 'soft' penalty than give one when a player has dived.
"I always tried to clear my mind of any previous incidents but, when refereeing a player such as Cristiano Ronaldo in his early days at Manchester United, I would be more likely to wave aside appeals from him than I would if Roy Keane went to ground.
"It is human nature and Rodgers needs to accept that it will take more than a plea from him to change Suarez's reputation.
"Referees need to see a change in attitude and approach before they give anything other than the most obvious penalties for fouls on him."

    Poll by any chance?

He ranked Ronaldo as one of his top 5 worst divers.

Not that it means anything but google finds 1million results for 'Ronaldo is a diver' and only 750k for Suarez is a diver.

    <ok>
