No one mentions his one-footedness because it isn't cool to talk about that like it is with Cairney.

I completely agree with you that it's a stupid situation where hardly anyone can kick with both feet, and one of the things that other countries do better than us, but it doesn't only apply to Cairney as some people make out. When we were kids it would be like an excuse if you messed something up that it was your weaker foot, as if it was someone else's fault that your weaker foot was so poor.

Cairney is still young enough to be a great player if given a run in the team, he's only 21-22 still. He will benefit from Bruces management although I was surprised Pearson didn't get the best out of him.

Yes they do, that was one of the key points people have been using to say Cooper should be ahead of him as the LCB.

IMO,, Steve Agnew will be the one to get Tom Cairney(once fit) playing to his potential.

For those old enough to remember Chris Simpkin, the first few games I saw him play my mate and myself called him the sugar plum fairy, as he played like a Nancy. He turn out to be a very strong tackling left half, and a really good player. With the right coaching Cairney can develop into a very good player, but he needs to add a bit of energy to his game. I am not saying he is the same type of play as Simpkin, but if you have the potential, and the desire to better yourself, with the right coaching, there is no reason he cannot turn into a very good player.

I always wondered, if we'd accepted a bid from Liverpool and he'd gone, played well and anchored a first team place, would he have been offered an England call up? I know he picked Scotland now, but would it have turned out different had he been sold to a big team when the interest was there?

    Only me and City1904.

To be fair, Mrs Dawson isn't bad considering she must be 10 years older than most of them.

Looks like a tug of war between Blackburn and Celtic in January 2014 if the media reports are correct.

Looking at his progress with Blackburn i just wonder if Steve Bruce will give TC another chance with us ? Middlesboro away in the Fac is a good place for TC to start. imo.

I think Bruce would have to be convinced to commit to a contract which would deprive him of funds for anyone else.

Sadly I think it is the end and it is just a shame. He ran out of time. If we had another year it could have been different but I reckon Bruce would prefer the cash in hand rather than in another three year contract he would want

Interesting. I had the same impression of Simpkin after his first few games...a real powder puff and clumsy too...Simpkin was his name...Simpkin was his game. Then I emigrated and was shocked a year or two later to find out he'd become a mid-field terror. Sadly I can't see TC ever becoming that despite his obvious skills.
