Let it go for ****s sake. Terry called him a ****ing black ****, end of. He isn't a racist, as many black players who know him have stated, but he most certainly did racially abuse Ferdinand that day. Serve the ban, which is very light, pay the money and make amends for the mistake.
SW6 -I agree this whole business has taken up more press coverage than the assassination of President Kennedy and its time it was put to bed! I think anyone with half a brain probably understands the truth of what went on! JT has very expensive legal advice to steer him towards/away from an appeal!
So are you saying JT,Cole and the club management are liars? If so then I want them sacked. I don't want racist liars associated with the club thanks. There can only be one truth. Either JT didn't or he did in which case he and anyone else lying for him should move on.
Oh **** off, I'm blank, and as far as I'm concerned , Terry has dished out whatwas served to him! Tired of all this bollocks about he felt hurt when he heard what was said about him. He was calling terry a **** and the only ****ing difference was supposdley Terry said black ****. Guess what He is black and he most difinately is a ****!! If Terry had of been walking past him and for no reason called him a black **** you would have had something, but they were both insulting each other and they should have both been charged with bringing the game into disrepute , if that at all possible! Everyone here on both sides need to MAN THE **** UP AND GROW A PAIR!
I don't give a **** what colour you are and what you deem as acceptable, society dictates the norm and not you. And in that society states that to verbally abuse someone with racial connotations is not accepted. There will be people who disagree but there you have it. That's why there are laws against it don't you know. Would you be as quick to make the case for JT if he'd called Ferdinand a N*****, or is that just as acceptable because Ferdinand called him a **** in the first place? Terry was in the wrong, he has been punished and its best he, and everyone else, accepts it and moves on.
Terry got away with it because no one near him heard it, therefore not enough proof to get beyond reasonable doubt. Even the magistrate said his story was thin, but in the absence of more solid proof he had to deliver the verdict he did. So nothing was proven in a court of law, neither guilt nor innocence, just a status quo on the assumption of innocent until proven guilty.
What a refreshing read. I don't think anybody believes he's racist or he'd have been outed in no time at all. He made a rash response in the heat of the moment. What he has done with the court case is provide a defence that has changed over time to fit the evidence. It provided enough doubt so was found not guilty. Be interesting to see if he appeals but frankly everybody needs to move on.
Hear hear Point is, none of our opinions matter or prove anything. Whatever we think, whether we believe JT's excuse or not, the point is only HE himself knows what context he said those words in, this has been dragged on too long for how minuscule it actually is given the lack of proof that can be provided. I think both District and myself, along with the QPR mods, would appreciate no further threads made on this issue after the 'appeal' has happened (whether he does or does not). It's extremely boring to read now and every single thread ends in argument.
