Thanks for the welcome back folks;), it has been hard not being able to read and post on the Board<yikes> The internet was so slow out there and very expensive it was bad enough trying to log onto FB, we could not even read our emails<yikes> Still back at home now;) just dropped the good lady at Bristol Airport for her return to Paris and now I can read the board in peace and hopefully catch up with what has been going on!

    Afternoon all

Another very wet day down here. It hasn't deterred a squirrel from trying to take one of my bird feeders apart. After several attempts to find a completely inaccessible spot I've given up and ordered one which claims to be squirrel-proof. I'm not certain anything is but time will tell.

If it's a grey squirrel, shoot it - American vermin.

If it's red, I've had some luck dangling the feeders off a tree using about two feet of string (or chain) - and soaking the string in oil or fat. They get fed up slipping off and bouncing off the ground. ;)

We have no squirrels except for people who have them as pets. I would bet some will escape soon.

BB, grey but I'm not armed...when I used the length of string it gnawed through the string so the feeder fell on the lawn and managed to pull several strands of thick wire loose. The oil sounds an idea. It would be entertaining at the very least.

Well done to Britt Assombalonga as he's in contention for League 2 player of the month, although it'll probably go to Tom Pope of Port Vale.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11686/8153158? looks like doyley's taking a swipe at our previous owners

It's an exciting time for the club, though, and the future appears to be bright doesn't it?

It does. That is what Watford have been missing, they've been missing an owner that knows about football and are stable. The owners, the Pozzo family, have got two other football clubs so they know a lot about football. Watford are in safe hands.

Not a great deal of movement yet Yorkie despite a day of wiggling it around. Not allowed to put any weight on it yet. At least with the cast on I could use it as a prop. :( Still early days yet.

Morning all from a wet Jersey, although the rain has relented for now but it's still overcast.

As the Posh game a week Saturday is a Family day, I was wondering who actually makes the decision as to whether we have a Family Day and which game it gets applied to. If it's at the owners discretion, <applause> to the Pozzos to agreeing to keep it going and to whoever approached them/Duxbury/Nani to ask them if they're willing to keep it going. Who knows, if they don't do something similar already, they might introduce it at Udinese and Granada.

Barry, I was reading about the Muratti vase today. Apparently Alderney has only won one match since the competition was founded in 1905 and it has been played every year except during the wars. How can a team maintain any motivation with that sort of record - one win in just under a hundred games?

Morning all, quite a busy morning answering questionnaires about my holidays this year, telephone calls and a visit from the nurse. I suspect that if a nurse kissed you in England some form of enquiry would be called for, but here it is accepted as an everyday happening. ;)

There was quite a funny peice on French television today about Boris and the jokes he was making in his speech at the Tory conference. Not too sure how much the locals would have understood, but there were comments wishing that French politicians would have a greater sense of humour.

Weather is only moderate today with sunshine and showers. I need to get some more water butts installed this winter down the fields as I ran out this summer. A job to add to the list of things to do when I am mobile again. In five weeks time I am making one of my infrequent visits to the UK for a birthday bash with a dozen friends of sixty years. Seeing as a full weekend of activities is planned on the Welsh borders, I am determined to be up and running by then, although I am told that the pub is within easy crawling distance. ;)

Seems a sensible and valid form of medication to me. Always works when mum kisses a little ones graze or cut better, so why not when you're older.

Did it refer to Alderney playing the hosts in about February and the winner of that faces the visitors? So for example, if Jersey were the hosts, they would play in Alderney and if Alderney won then the Vase would be contested between Alderney and Guernsey in Jersey. Also, there has been some debate as whether it should still be called the Muratti Vase as Muratti were a cigarette company but as they were the ones who supplied the trophy, it's highly unlikely that it will be anything else. Did it also mention the women's and junior Murattis? I don't know what the situation is in Guernsey, but here the women used to play in the morning at a ground to the west of the island. On the last couple of occasions it's been held here, they've played at Springfield Stadium the day before the men.

Morning all, foggy here in Queretaro and eerily murky weather, but that will soon burn off.

Not much going on on the board at the moment. Not much going here either, seems like a bit of a pre xmas lul. I'm off the booze for a month, as sometimes I have a big detox before the xmas session. I am doing well, but I started on Monday !! <whistle>

Thought you'd be well placed to answer that one yourself NZ - it sounds very much like the All White's record against OZ.;)
