    sorry, that's what i meant! <doh>

as for the other bit, what i mean is that delia obviously has a good reason to keep that debt there, even if she has no intention of claiming it. could be for tax purposes or god knows what, but its there for a reason. we don't even know if she does want it back on the sale of the club, its merely what i and others have heard. the gist is, we as a club will be externally debt free come april next year, and that is quite an achievement considering where we were three years ago. its pretty irrelevant how much we owe to delia. we aren't under pressure to do anything with that money and it isn't incurring interest. its dead money. also, the banks won't take any interest in that debt to delia. its the bank loans that they are interested in. mcnally and bowkett said as much.

This must have been sorted out already. People of that wealth don't have £79.99 wills.

ground capacity is currently an irrelevance as the club have announced it will not be looked at in the near future. any funds will go straight into team development, so they obviously feel its not the right time either. it'll happen one day but not yet.

I also wonder if the money given by Delia's was given through a trust (which is unlikely) which opens up even more legal issues. If we could claim its a charitable trust - education through football (academy) or benefitting the community through all the work they do! But now I'm just rambling!

That may be the public announcement but its not quite correct. We were told the Wensum block ticket holders wanted their facilities improved (don't know why, they looked superb). Delia told them that the club would not do any improvements as they were plaaning to knock down the City Stand. No time scale was given but it was inferred to the Wensum block that if we retained our Prem status then it was fairly imminent.

its imminent in terms of years rather than decades, but it won't be at the end of this season, even if we stay up, and possibly not the year after that either. probably didn't phrase it very well - apologies <ok>

whilst on the subject of money, and the worst happens, how much do the championship teams get with the new Sky deal? is it linked to appearances? Does anybody know - £4-6m as a finger in the air?

So we know our TV money could drop from c£40-45m to this lower amount, but we would get £12m p.a in parachute payments. Add in £8.5m as no more debt payments and also expected wage cuts hopefully built into players contracts. it's not a disaster looking at big handfulls

Relegation would certainly not be a disaster, financially we'd still be secure. I'd like to think that the club have planned for it, so that if we were to relegate, wage cuts, etc, would kick in, leaving us with balanced books as a championship side. Sure we might not have the money to splash in the transfer market, and we might be looking to sell in order to buy, but we wouldn't be racking up debt.

I'm sure you're right that the club has a contingency plan in place, but equally sure it is for more than balancing the books. It's a plan for a quick return to the top-tier. <ok>

We would be richer than at any time in our history. Cash rich without significant debt owed to an outside influence so I guess we'd be quite rich by those standards.

I just hope we can be a model that reinvests wisely and tries to incrementally increase skill in our players very year

Quite true. I still believe, solvency aside, the overwhelming desire of NCFC supporters is to see their team playing decent attractive football rather what division they are in.
