I'm generally quite cynical about "big clubs", but it is fair to say that you don't walk out of Liverpool for a "bigger" club. You walk either because you're not good enough, you want more money (for players and/or yourself), or because you want to go abroad. What that means for BR is that he must succeed at Liverpool, and that's not helped by the fact that success on the red side of Stanley Park is measured in league titles and European trophies. If he can post a respectable finish this season think he'll get three or four years to do it, but there won't be any hiding places if he's not up to seeing the task through.
An interesting stat after the QPR v West Ham game tonight. •West Ham are the first team in Premier League history to receive eight yellow cards in a single game.
I know that one or two on here have been trying to follow the saga that is Pompey. There is an article now on their fans web site that seems to uncover the strange dealings and people involved at the club. Why it takes a fan to gather together all of this information and be prepared to publish it, risking legal action if it is untrue, rather than the local newspaper, national ones or even TV seems untrue. What it does show is that the FA cannot give approval to the return of the previous owner. Quite where the administrator is left in the current mess is unsure seeing as he appears to have vanished. It is a long and quite hard read, but worth the effort if you think that football has become infected with people who should never be within a mile of a club. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba...revealed_-_the_true_story_behind_ali_al_faraj
So, Owen Coyle has been sacked by Bolton. Not sure why they didn't do that in the summer...strange timing. I wonder how it'll affect Marv...and i wonder if Sean Dyche will be in the running...
I noticed there was a stamp and 2 dives over the weekend in the Premiership...yet no-one got booked or red carded!
Have to agree H, it is strange timing I suppose they were just giving him time to see if he could make them a force to be reckoned within the Championship but he could not!
A fellow who called himself Coyle Became the top man through hard toil After one or two losses His long-sighted bosses Decided he'd gone off the boil Ah well...it's been a dull afternoon...
Not if the odds shown on SSN are anything to go by but Phil Gartside could appoint someone like SD. After all, he appointed Big Sam..
I see Barnet have announced that they have received international clearance for Collins John. I thought it was only players who required such a clearance?
I remember doing the match thread for the game against Bolton and reading there was a lot of heat on him. The thing that always concerns me is HOW THE HELL IS ROY KEANE in the running for these jobs? Surely people must now realise he is only fit to manage Luton.
Another former Watford player enters management. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19898624 Good luck Neal.
Good news off the field for one of our recent former captains: http://bc.ctvnews.ca/ashleigh-mcivor-to-marry-jay-demerit-despite-mullet-1.988880#ixzz2908JTco0
