    Who are Ya?
Formed in 1887 the Chairboys joined the Southern League in 1896. They resigned their membership in 1908, choosing to play in the amateur Great Western Suburban League. When play resumed after the Great War they joined the Spartan League and, after successive championships, joined the Isthmian League in 1921. There they remained until 1985, when they accepted promotion to the Alliance Premier League [Conference].
During the Isthmian League days they won the FA Amateur Cup in 1931, beating Hayes 1-0 at Highbury. They reached the First Round proper of the FA Cup for the first time in 1932, taking Gillingham to a replay.
Their first season in the Conference saw them relegated on goal difference, but they were only absent for a single season.
In 1993 they became only the third side to do the non-league equivalent of the double, when they won the Conference [gaining promotion to the Football League] and then beat Runcorn in the FA Trophy final at Wembley.
They gained a second consecutive promotion in 1994, beating Preston in the playoff final. They have spent all their league years between League One and League Two. Their finest moment came in 2001 when they reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup. They knocked out Championship sides Wolves and Wimbledon and Premiership outfit Leicester City in their cup run. They were narrowly beaten, 2-1, by Liverpool at Villa Park.
Best Performance in this competition: Southern Area final 1994
Highest League Finish*: 6th in Div 2 [League One] 1995
Lowest League Finish*: 12th in League Two 2007

    FA Amateur Cup winners 1932
    Anglo-Italian Cup winners 1976

    Match Odds (at Skybet)

    Mystic Devo
Wycombe may be near the foot of the Football League, but they can raise their ga,e on the day and go into this match on the back of a win against Torquay.
Confidence is high at Pompey at the moment after picking up 7 points from the last 3 games. A clean sheet would be nice!

    Devo reckons: Pompey 3-1 Wycombe

Portsmouth 3-0 Wycombe. McLeod with a hat-trick to put him one clear at the top of the League One top scorers!

(He currently has 5 this season- there a 3 Tranmere players all with seven goals- jesus, I'm dreading the time we play Tranmere, we'll be hit for 6!)

Realistically, 2-1 Pompey, with McLeod, and the beast Gyepes, on the scoresheet <ok>

My feeling is that Wycombe are going to come here determined to get a win.

We'll either scrape a win or win big time - depends how awake the team is.

I haven't been able to find any figures for such competitions as the Full members Cup or Anglo-Italian Cup, but, for League, FA Cup and League Cup matches, our lowest home attendance was 2,731 for the League Cup 2nd Round Second Leg v Blackburn on 26 September 2000. http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/article.php?id=697

The low turn out may have had some-thing to do with the fact that we had lost the first leg 4-0!

The match ended 1-1, with Blackburn going through 5-1 on aggregate

Not a good start from us, Lapras.......

I see Eastwood is in goal for us, was he at fault for either of the goals conceded I wonder ?

Sa1nts - how do you know we haven't played them in a friendly match in the past ? Devo has quite rightly said "competitive" for that very reason.

Now run along and read your comic, that's a good lad....................

Most Pompey fans hope that the Portsmouth Supporters Trust are chosen to take the club out of Administration.

We have had a succession of dodgy foreign owners, most of whom have been an absolute disaster.

After tonight :)emoticon-0105-wink:) good luck for the rest of the season <cheers>

What's your view on Waddock being sacked? He did alright at Aldershot.
