I've got a load of excel race data I can send across if its of any use. I've got 'summary' data for the season as well as full data for individual races. It could potentially help with things like part wear if you want to include that, as well as the usual things?
I'm always using your last spreadsheet to make sure my numbers look reasonable <ok>

At the moment I've only used data for my current driver, which is limited at the moment because for a while I kept forgetting to update GO, so I'm missing several races. At some point I'll probably put in all my old drivers data, which is about 3,4 seasons worth, which'll be interesting to compare with my current drivers data. If the comparisons look good, I might look to get data from other sources.

At the moment I'm only trying to calculate fuel usage and tyre life, I've been relying on GO to tell me if a car part needs replacing. But part wear would be an interesting thing to model too, I'm assuming it's dependent on experience, technical insight, risks and maybe concentration too, as well as a large track factor, so how easy it'll be to model I don't know. I did find a website which gave you ballpark wear figures for most tracks, but unfortunately they removed the data. It might be too difficult to produce an accurate model for part wear, but collating the data can't hurt, I might have to extend the race strategy sheet to give you any relevant part wear too, but what formulae I'd need to do that I'm not entirely sure. Maybe a separate datasheet which you can search by track might be more helpful.

I found something about wear too not so long ago. It didn't have all the tracks on but seemed to suggest that regardless of all other factors part wear could be calculated to around +/- 6% for a set track. Sadly that info seems to have been sucked away into the ether. I've always played fuel a little safe so far but Im pushing towards finishing with pretty much nothing as each race goes on. In the last race were you short fueled? I checked my calc's with yours and in the end I was massively overfueled so Im not sure what went on there.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure how I managed to short fuel, I should have been fuelled to do 19,20,20 on laps, but instead did 18,19,19. I've been going through some fuel data recently, and a general trend seems to be that consumption in the first stint is slightly higher than any other stint, and that was the case here.

I think it was just an error on my part, all the more frustratingly, I calculated using 0.68 l/km, and in the race it was 0.685. For 20 laps, that means I was predicting to use 72.12 litres, but actually needed 72.64 litres. I'm not sure how, but I only stuck 72 litres in the tank, and that's what cost me. So infuriating as the result would have guaranteed safety. I'll be furious if I get relegated now.

I'd be really interested on how they were calculated part wear that closely! You've no idea where you found it?

I think Mifune needs to invite you to the locked forum. Go give him a virtual prod :)

Go to http://notgpro.forumotion.co.uk/ and make an account, Mifune will approve you. Most of the data we have is on there, and if you want anything where the link has expired, let me know and I'll re-post it.

I've bumped this thread enough times, but once more for luck...

A few of us on here play an F1 Management game at www.gpro.net. If anyone is interested in playing, we've amassed quite a lot of very helpful data between us, and have a private forum we discuss the game on. For more info on the game, scroll up and read one of my longer posts, read the games description on the website, or PM myself, Mifune, Happyal, BLS or ModestMatt.

I think someone wanted to make one, but apparently the website works well enough on mobile devices that it isn't really needed. I can't confirm this as my phone isn't good enough though.

I have set up my team again and qualified for sepang with a very basic setup and strategy. I have no past data now and setup notes as I have lost them. So I am starting from scratch.

El_B, obviously we can supply you with all the data you'd need to promote, or would you rather spend a season getting to know the game better? A couple of us were just talking about how we could really do with someone prepared to write off a season and do some testing, etc.

I think you've got relatively lucky with the group you're in El_B too. I think you're in one of the newly created groups, so there should be about 3 or 4 guys who've just relegated, but the rest will all be new to the game, there won't be a core of people who understand the game, but just aren't very good yet.
