    Nowts apiece.

    Latest score at HT:
Aston Villa Res 0 Newcastle United Res 0

Newcastle's reserve side are currently in league action against Aston Villa at a damp Villa Park. A slow start from both sides saw little of note until a 26th minute effort from Villa's Jordan Bowery that was correctly adjudged to be offside.

Things then started to pick up for the black and whites, with Conor Newton volleying just wide of the home goal after the ball fell to him from a half-cleared corner.

And United came even closer to an opening goal five minutes before the interval, when Haris Vuckic won a corner and then found Adam Campbell at the far post. Sadly though he nodded wide from point blank range.

The Magpies threatened again on 45 minutes when Mehdi Abeid was tripped in a central position outside the box but blasted the consequent free kick over the bar.

Dan Gosling then missed the goal by a similar distance in added time Campbell and Xisco created an opening. Yes, you did read that correctly....Xisco is in the team.

Our Spanish shirker was last spotted at this level back in January 2011 and hasn't been seen in our first team since Villa's visit to SJP in August 2010.

Managed by Gordon Cowans, Villa are unbeaten in four league games this season but have won just once.

Team: Alnwick, Newton, Riley, Abeid, Tavernier, Satka, Campbell, Gosling, Xisco, Vuckic, Amalfitano.
Subs n/u: Inman, Woodman, Hooper, Maddison, Miele.

Villa: Siegrist, Cameron, Stevens, Westwood, Devine, Baker, Johnson, Carruthers, Bowery (Bateman 43), Burke, Stieber.
Subs n/u: Barrett, Graham, Watkins-Clark, Melvin.

    Booked: Bowery

Seems to be a pretty strong line up by us - disappointing that its only 0-0 at half time

Did Xisco get caught shagging children or something? he scored on his debut and then he was deemed the worst player ever to have signed for us because Keegan pissed his pants again.

He can't be that bad can he?

I think it had something to do with him not being a team player.

Hmmmm I think he has been treat like dirt by our club if I'm honest.

Colo is a good freind of his so what on earth is going on? I can only presume he is a horrible individual like me but Colo wouldn't be a freind if he was.

I'd say he is good enough for the bench at least given we don't have 4 strikers

    Adam, Abeid, aheed...

Newcastle reserves are currently in league action against Aston Villa at Villa Park and lead thanks to second half strikes from Adam Campbell and Mehdi Abeid.

Pardew seems to have the Ameobis ahead of these but I'm not sure they should be.

If I'm honest I'll be pleased the day Shola retires he's an weight in the boot.

lets just stop fcking about with Campbell and let him loose - he has ridiculous pace and would partner Cisse or Ba perfectly.

Apparently if he plays one more senior game iit will invoke a clause in his contract that will see us have to pay an extra fee to Deportivo I think. Scandalous to have a career ruined by a simple clause. I also remember him torturing Villa in the 6-0 game

Not sure about letting him lose, but I'd certainly like to see him getting 15-20 mins of the bench in the coming weeks.
