I think what the FA and the media have taken especial exception to is the fact that Terry and Cole are bare-faced liars, who have tried to squirm their way out of trouble but have been found out, and yet they still show absolutely no contrition. Terry was always going to be made an example of, since he, effectively, spat in the face of the FA's long-running campaign to rid English football of any kind of racism (whether or not he, personally, is a racist). Cantona (to take but one example from your list) kung-fu kicking a fan is what it is, and the player not only suffered censure from the FA but was also given community service (which is a punishment dished out to offenders where the court would otherwise send them to jail). One of the cries from some quarters, particularly the organisation that represents black players, is that Terry has not been punished harshly enough. Is Terry an embarrassment to English football? Yes, I think he is; he's certainly an absolute disgrace. Is Cole an embarrassment to English football? That, I'm not so sure of, although I certainly believe that he out to be heartily ashamed of himself.

One thing that annoys me is that us Chelsea fans are being criticised for supporting our own players... It's a joke... 'Chelsea fans stand by Chelsea players shock'... The media are loving all this.

Nice little rhyme you got there, remind's me of United's motto, "when in doubt, cheat your way out" But no I don't agree that the OP is anything of the like you mentioned. The only problem with it is that it's only a snippet of all the controversies that associates of other clubs have been involved in. And considering the quality of the majority of your posts, I wouldn't be so quick to judge another's.
Spare us all the bulls*** HIAG. The only reason you have this attitude towards Terry and Cole is because of who they play for. At no point in this matter have either Terry or Cole been proven as liars. It's easy to be against them though because of who they are, who they play for and the way the media has reported on them and portrayed them as in the past. Because that's all people are judging on here. Unfortunately you don't understand how damaging the social stigma of being labelled as a racist can be, especially if it's not true. You cannot just admit to something that is not true and apologise for it as that would be a complete contradiction of the facts. Terry and Cole will not be a disgrace or an embarrassment to English football until what they are accused of doing is proven and it has a negative impact on English football. For me the only embarrassments are those who lap up what the media feeds them like dogs.
All football fans ask for is fair treatment. If Rooney and Gerrard had done what Ashley Cole had done they wouldn't be castigated at all
A slight exaggeration on my part Watford (well, more than slight) but I think Gerrard and Rooney are well received in this country, moreso than Cole and Terry for obvious reasons.
Look: both Ash & JT are Chelsea legends but at the end of the day both act like a pair of *rseholes from time to time. The press is always going to make hay with guys like this. Cest la vie. I think that sometimes we expect too much from the players - there are some bright footballers for sure but many are not so bright and some are downright thick. You only need to read some of the tweets to get an insight into how dopey some are. Why do we think they ought to act in a rationale and reasoned fashion? Many have never grown up, are over-indulged and are so far divorced from reality it's untrue. No wonder they don't give a crap about what they do/say.
I am not sure what you are getting at here. Its strange...... Rio did something similar, made a comment over twitter ( not actually a comment, he laughed at a joke ) and he was punished. Gerrard and Rooney are white, Cole and Rio are black..... are you suggesting racism from the FA? Hopefully not, probably just reading too much into it. I will say that Rooney has been banned for things that no other player has been banned for.... bar other United players like Scholes. Rooney well received Englands scapegoat, blamed for every failure ( like all United players, superior players tend to have superior expectations tbf ). Rooney probably gets as bad press as the other 2. Gerrard however, he gets **** all. In a list of the 20 most hated players, Cole, Terry and Rooney were top 6 I think and Gerrard, not even included..... which is bullshit.
Got to agree here, don't know one person who likes Rooney. Personally I don't mind him too much, bit of a scally and a complete rogue but get's more stick than he's due.
Thing is drogs none of us United fans are really that fussed. I mean the guy earns stupid money and he gets a bit of stick for being a dick in his personal life and gets a hard time from people who expect him to perform miracles for England. At United he does whats needed, hes probably not a bad guy in real life just a lad like most of us are or were at some point.
