Just looking for general consensus really....a lot of people on here have been saying we expect to lose him in the summer. It’s not as though he has done a lot to catch the eyes of premier league scouts? I really think when played in his best position (behind the strikers) he could still tear up the championship it really frustrates me to see him on the wing. Personally I would like him to stay to add some much needed older heads to NP ever growing young guns.

I know in some cases he goes missing or seems unmotivated but if we don’t sign Gerrard (seems unlikely now) maybe the captains armband could motivate him a bit more?

This came about because of an article from Talksport:

Robert Koren is set for a summer exit from Hull City – with German club Nuremberg poised to make a move.

Midfielder Koren moved to Hull from West Brom last year and he was watched by Italian side Chievo late last year.

Chievo wanted to sign the Slovenian in the January transfer window but talks between the Italians and Hull broke down.

Nuremberg have since registered their interest in the 30-year-old and will make a £1m bid in the summer.

If we get £1m for him and replace him with Belaid on a free, it might not be a bad deal(I think they're very similar players).

Would be great if he could stay, he's still a good player and he still has the potential to be a big threat in the Championship. However, i don't think he's being consistently the player he was at West Brom all season, he's disappeared in and out of games at times which is fustrating. He came up with some useful goals at the start of the season which perhaps helped us keep our heads above water at the time, but with the team changing and improving considerably since then, perhaps his influence has become more unnoticed? Selling him on would all depend on what irons Pearson has in the fire in terms replacements, but given the good reputation of our management team in the transfer market, i trust them to make the right decision for the club.

id like to keep him, but wouldnt be devestated if he left...not quite lived up to the potential, but still always looks the most likely to carve out an opening in a tight game...and has still chipped in with a few goals...

I think he could play for a PL club still. I think he's a great player (one of my favourites) but he just doesn't look interested. I would love to see him and Evans in the CM next season, with Cairney been first choice sub.

On the other hand I wouldn't be devastated to see him go for a good price.

If we got the rumoured 1mill, id be happy for him to go considering the likes of chester and stewart only cost us 300k each if we could find another 2 or 3 similar gems it could be a good move

I wouldn't be too dissapointed if he left, but would rather he didn't.
If you think about his contribution in the early stages of the season, he can be the star in the team. Hopefully if we can find some 'natural' wingers over summer he will be able to take a place in the centre. I would rather he didn't go but if we get £1m for him its decent as we got him for free!
Belaid i still feel is a real talent IMO, i think Pearson knows he is too so hopefully he will be kept.

    Cairney, first choice sub??? LMAO

If we get a £1m we could pay off Jimmy....or it would cover his wages for the first half the season?

Honestly I think if anyone comes in with any bids near £1m for any of our players the club would snatch thier hands off. So would I, if it allows the coaching team to unearth more jewels like Chester and Stewart then that would make perfect sense to me.

Koren could be a very good player in the Championship, however he just doesn't seem to fit into our system of play which has limited his chance to make a strong impact this season. He's a good player none the less however I wouldn't be sad to see him leave for around the 1m mark, money which could be used to buy Ayala.

I dont think this is going to be a particular popular opinion but I massively rate Koren, he's definitely one of my favourite players. I dont like him out on the wing but when he's given a chance in the middle he is fantastic and his early performances this season were the dogs! I hope he stays with us for next season at least.

On a side issue did I see an article about Gerrard and someone had written that he was voted player of the season? Did I miss that or is it rubbish?

£1m? I'd take the money straight away.

He isn't a bad player, he is capable of moments of brilliance and good goals, but most of the time he just drifts out of the game.

SSN got it wrong, you can vote for the player of the season until May 2nd, so it won't be announced until next month.

It doesn't matter what we want, it's what the management want at the end of the day.I can tell you that Rob is very highly thought of by the management and he's also happy at the club.
You can't have a team full of inexperienced youngsters in this league, its just wouldn't work.Old heads with a bit of wool on their backs are essential. For me his 7 league goals and 8 assists are a healthy return from midfield , this coupled with his willingness to go out of his way to help the younger lads make him a very important cog in the machine that NP,SW and CS are now started to fine tuning.
This management team know exactly what type of character they want in the dressing room, that's why Ash and the frizzy haired cockey twat are nowhere to be seen these days.
Koren is the polar opposite to what those two were, the consumate professional.

The bloke is an absolute gent off the pitch as well.

I'd be very, very dissapointed if he left in the summer.

I want him to stay and would be massively disappointed if he left. Although in recent months his impact on the team has tailed off, we can't forget some of the vital points he helped us pick up earlier on in the season. Completely agree with NFU's comments regarded the old heads!

I think he should stay and think he would look more interested and have more influence on a game if played as a CM or in the gap behind the strikers

But it wouldnt be a dissaster if he left, mainly because I trust NP to get a better player then any player he lets leave

I think Koren is a good pro as mentioned but he gives the impression of not being happy a lot of the time, and I think he's had a fair run in a few positions so it's not like he's been stuck on the wing all season. I'd keep him as it would be hard to find somebody with more ability but then again a million quid for a player that's probably coming to the latter stages of his career is handy money.
