While we were creating our 21st century Pompey squad some-one asked if we would do a 1990s one.

I'm game, just so long as you're not getting bored with it!!!

As far as goalkeepers are concerned I can only think of three off the top of my head, so unless some-one points out a name I've foolishly forgotten, they will be an automatic trio of...

    Aaron Flahavon [RIP]
    Andy Gosney
    Alan Knight

Noel Blake ? I know he doesnt fit the decade as a Pompey player, but he did carry on playing for other sides in the 90s. Your call.

I would have loved to have been able to pick Blake but, as you said, he didn't play for Pompey in the 90s::emoticon-0145-shake

Kit Symonds, Andy Awford, Gary Stevens, Gavin Maguire, Jason Cundy, Russell Perret, Robbie Pethick.

Maguire was the man to put the fear into opposing strikers, quite amazing he is a hairdresser now. Just doesn't go with the image he had on the pitch.

I would have thought Benny Kristensen was more of a defensive midfielder myself.

Probably off line for a few days due to work commitments so here's my midfield and strikers

Midfield: Darren Anderton, Alan McLoughlin, Johnny *Lager* Durnin, Paul Hall (I always saw him as a right winger not a striker), , Thomas Thøgersen, Preki Radosavljevic, Stefani Miglioranzi, David Hillier.

Strikers: John Aloisi, Steve Claridge, Guy Whittingham, Gerry Creaney, Colin Clarke.

Changed Burton for Whittingham, completely forgot about him.

Lots of names there, but luckily for me, from a squad point of view, there were exactly 7 with more than 1 nomination, so they are the 7.

    Andy Awford
    John Beresford
    Gavin Maguire
    Russel Perret
    Robbie Pethwick
    Gary Stevens
    Kit Symons

Midfield: Darren Anderton, Alan McLoughlin, Johnny *Lager* Durnin, Paul Hall (I always saw him as a right winger not a striker), , Thomas Thøgersen, Preki Radosavljevic, Stefani Miglioranzi, David Hillier.

Darren Anderton, Alan McLoughlin, Martin Kuhl, Mike Fillery.
I knew there was another goalie, Mart Poom! but I wouldn't have voted for him.
I forgot to include Hoggy hoof! as a defender, is it too late?

Ok, we have SEVEN players selected up to now; those with more than 1 nomination:

    Darren Anderton
    John Durnin
    Paul Hall
    David Hillie
    Martin Kuhl
    Alan McLoughlin
    Preki Radosavljevic
    (spelling?)

The others will go into a vote for the final place.

While the polls are open for the final mid-field place, it is time to start considering the attacking option.

FIVE nominations are needed for Pompey's 1990s attack.

Starting with Slumming's nominations, which are:

John Aloisi, Steve Claridge, Guy Whittingham, Gerry Creaney, Colin Clarke.

I think Slumming is 'spot on' with his choice.

Same five players for me as well devo, please.
