Totally agree AS, that's why he gets my vote, yes he's made the odd slip, but who does'nt, nobody's perfect. He's not missed many aerial balls. Has been solid at the back no matter what partner he's had, drives forward and scored sevarl vital goals, and yes 100% agree about captains armband for next season.

I think Jose Fonte has been immense this season and has also scored one or two really important goals. He just gets my vote over Lallana.

I am surprised that the AV voting system has not been used for this poll.

I sure am. I got brassed off with the WUMs on 606 etc who spoiled things to such an extent that you could not enjoy a good debate about football so I gave up and took up yoga and flower arranging instead. This site is looking good though.

It is a good site and is largely self regulated. We mods are rarely brought into things as the people on this site treat it with respect in the main. As long as you do not try and wind people up or become personal with people you are free to debate. You have the added advantage that if someone personally annoys you, you do have the option of using your ignore option. So if that person posts you will not see his or her posts. (It doesn't work for mods though, that question has already been asked) ....<laugh> It might be of interest to read the thread "A word about moderation and wumming" It will give you an incite into what is trying to be achieved. The same for swearing, it is allowed to a point although swearing for swearing sake is not wanted. Of course you do have the anti swear button bottom left of your page. So you never need to be offended. I believe all that are over here enjoy that bit of freedom with out going over the top. Anyway that gives a bit of an Idea of what we are at. If you have any problems or questions please feel free to PM either myself or KingslandSFC and we will try and help you. In the mean time .........Enjoy

I am all for First Past The Post, as long as it goes in the net and we score it. I will be voting No, with my second choice Yes!

My vote has gone to Jose Fonte. I do think Adam Lallana is the best player in this league but Fonte has been a constant for saints this season and the way he has stepped up in recent weeks has been inspiring! I echo statements on making him captain for next season. Clearly an absolute rock for the lads and a real leader who goes by example! Lets hope he can lead the team home to automatic promotion, Cumon you reds!!!

I voted Lallana on here, then changed my mind and voted Fonte on the Echo site. Had my vote rejected on OS..has happened before..probably something technological. Notice that Fonte's votes increasing on this poll, probably because of his recent goals. Wouldn't be surprised if he's not the winner on the Echo and OS polls.

All the lads have done well this season.
Kelvin for clean sheets and penalty saves.
Solid defense - best in the L1.
Midfield - Lallana and Chamberlain for style and passing.
Ricky , barnard , connolly for banging the goals in.......
but for me Jose Fonte stands out a mile, looks like a captain to me.

I voted for Jose Fonte on the OS. I feel a bit sorry for Dean Hammond, as captain he doesn't get many positive comments. I reckon he's an unsung hero. One of those players you only notice how good he is when he isn't playing
So its Deano for me <ok>

If we go up, i would be backing Fonte for captain as, no offence intended, i dont think Hammond is good enough for the first team in the championship. Im looking foward to seeing Morgan Schneiderlin back :D

They're all on the bus, or in the building so well done all of them, but Fonte gets my vote. How many centre backs get the same kind of recognition as goal scoring midfielders and strikers? Only our Jose in my opinion, and would like to see the captain's armband on him next season.

Fair play to Deano though, he's had a good season and will continue to do a good job in the Championship.

I think all the lads played there part in it this season at various stages, each player chipping in when needed...can't argue with the top 3
