I think Messi will go down as the second best player in the whole history of football, second only to Pele.

Then again, if he can get anywhere near Pele's goalscoring record (730 goals in 605 apps at Santos) he could be considered the best ever.

 

Somebody needs to sort this rep system out it is really pissing me off.

It's all part of AG's master plan. He makes hilarious things so everyone positive reps him, then when no one can give him anymore, he'll unleash weeks of built-up hurtful comments to everyone and no one will be able to retaliate with neg rep.

Do you actually watch Spanish football Tash? Or are you basing Messi's talent on a handful of CL games? He's at a completely different level to everyone on the planet and has been for a few years.

 

I watch all of Barcelona's games that are on TV and have done for a while.

 

Messi's the best player in the world, end of, Ronaldo doesn't have a "better all round game", he's just tall and can head the ball, but why would Messi wan't to anyway when he's so good with his feet

 

Ronaldo doesn't even have an "all round game". He's selfish, he doesn't have the a passing game, his vision is **** and he doesn't track back and help out defensively. Messi is the greatest player with the ball at his feet since Maradona, but backs that up with a great passing game and a clinical nature in front of goal. No player in the world could've scored the goal he did last night, Maradona and George Best are probably the only two in history who could score goals like that.

I think the one at 3:23 sums Messi up. The ability to carve a team apart at will coupled with the vision and presence of mind to slide in a teammate is what sets him apart. He's definitely the best contemporary player, and when he's finished he'll probably go down as the greatest of all time.

 

This is just in la liga, but Messi has scored 31 goals to Ronaldos 29 and Messi has 17 assists to Ronaldos 8. I think that says it all really.

 

Messi is on a better team remember.

 

Messi has been involved in (scored or assisted) 55% of Barca's 88 goals. Ronaldo has been involved in 47% of Real's.
