I am by nature a pessemist , but I have thought we would survive this year, I am now thinking we may well get Relegated . Not that that in itself worries me to much , but if we go down wil NC stick around ? I know he said Southampton will not get relegated while he is in charge & I Laughed at the thought he meant he would sell Now I am not sure .....................
Why are you worried more now than before? We rescued a point with a make-shift team against a strong fulham side. On another day we would have had a bit more luck and won today.
Becuse at 1-0 I thought we would piss it , I was wrong & as I say I am a Pesemist , but thanks for the sensible reply rather than the one previuously ..........
Jasper, can I suggest that you let a few hours go by, to let your thoughts settle, before you post..? FWIW, I've never felt the club to be in safer hands. I think you're just suffering from the pessimists [you actually don't strike me as such, normally] ...this is all too good to last... syndrome.
Have to say, this one concerned me. Not the result so much as the play that led to it...we pressed very well and took possession off of a clumsy Fulham side time and again, but we didn't have much cutting edge in open play. It's our goal-scoring that will keep us up if we stay up, and it was our inability to put Fulham away that left them positioned to get something (and almost everything). Defending a one-goal lead for 30+ minutes is always going to be chancy for this side; gotta run up the score when the opposition is flat.
I'm a little uncomfortable with our performance but will only seriously worry if one or all of the following come to pass: 1. Saints are bottom by the end of December 2. Saints stop scoring goals 3. Cortese is spotted at Staplewood during a first team training session and is wearing a sweatshirt / team jacket with 'NC' on it! The result didn't go to plan today but we showed courage to rescue a point at the death, and listening to the radio commentary Fulham missed about as many chances as we did so I can't put our missesd chances as a sign of being out of our depth.
1. Ramirez was injured. 2. Clyne was injured. 3. Richardson was injured. This meant that the whole back four was makeshift, with Yoshida playing out of position. 4. Hooiveld didn't have a good game at all. All in all, we did well to rescue a point, so cheer up Jasper!
Fair comment Chilco , TSS said it when he said I should hold back before posting . Apologies to the REAL women on this board , Fran & Jen the saint ;-)
I am perfectly calm thanks. What I don't appreciate is blatent, pathetic and childish sexism. I guess women are not welcome here so I'll leave you gentlemen to your depression. One final thing. I forecast on Dec 11th last year in this forum that we would finish 2nd when all you pessimists were saying we had blown it - so maybe I am not so dumb as it looks eh?
On the other hand, perhaps against some folks' expectations, sounds like Fox did well. Only heard the commentary but was that true? If so well done Fox
