The thing is, Hughes didn't either! He is just covering his tracks now after making that ridiculous statement about QPR never having to be in that position again (17th) Well congratulations Sparkles, you have managed to avoid 17th and have now slipped three places lower <laugh>

QPR owner Tony Fernandes tweets: "For all those calling for change, this is the team that that outplayed Spurs and gave Chelsea a damn good game. And you want change? No way."

What a joke! Every game we should've won (except, arguably, Soton away) we've won. The only teams who've beaten us are the reigning champions and Man Utd! Admittedly tougher times are ahead but we're doing well...

You know what, I'm preaching to the converted, aren't I? **** journalists!

West Ham too Bidley. We didn't deserve points there. But you're right, we're on schedule. My schedule that is.

I'd love to know what justification the journo can give us by saying we're relegation candidates. On the games played already it doesn't show, quite the opposite.

If I had a cat it wouldn't be happy right now!

Now that we're talking about how the press unfairly lumps Fulham in as 'relegation candidates', I think we've actually managed to get on-topic in the off-topic thread. Well done, one and all.

Is it just me, or has the "big two" changed this year? Last year it appeared clear early in the season that the league would be won by either ManU or ManC. But this year, ManU seems to have lost some steam while Chelsea has enjoyed a revival. Is it all down to Mata?

    Poor journalism.

Considering the latest injuries and last minute weakening of the team we are doing well.

The cat has sensed the frustration and run away!! LOL

Chelsea have had a comfortable start to the season

    Wigan
    Reading
    Newcastle
    QPR
    Stoke
    Arsenal
    Norwich

Obviously Barring Arsenal, (Newcastle was at home) Chelsea have not played a match I wouldn't have expected them to win. On paper they should have won at least 6 of those seven games and they have done. It's been an expected start from them in my opinion. I do think the likes of Oscar and Hazard have added something, but I will wait for them to play the likes of City, Utd, Tottenham etc before suggesting they have title credentials.

I didn't realize they'd had such an easy go of it. Perhaps their draw with QPR is a sign that Chelsea aren't that good. Point of pure ugliness - Next to Fulham finishing high enough for European football again, my biggest hope - a prayer, really - is that QPR goes down in flames.

Here's an interesting subject for you all: David Icke. Claims the world is controlled by a select number of people who will eventually turn the civilised world into one totalitarian state. Oh, and these select people are actually lizard men.

I've always thought that bald italian ref, Collina, had the look of someone who was secretly an alien lizard man in disguise. Seriously, Mrs Captain and I used to joke about it when he was reffing on telly. Just saying.

What I find fascinatingly ironic is that he talks to no end about the few controlling the masses and how we need to rise up and end it... but isn't he using the exact same tactic? He called himself the son of God (he since went back on himself and said he meant "the son of Godhead(?)") and he's here to preach the truth about the world!

I find it a shame, as he raises some credible thoughts about the world and how there could be a conspiracy, but any shred of credibility is lost by trying to tell us we're being controlled by subterranean alien lizard men. He's a very compelling speaker and clearly is quite a clever bloke, but he shoots himself in the foot with all the reptilian race stuff.

It annoys me how his supporters (of which he has a worrying amount) say how he decimates his opposition in debate, whereas he actually just shouts the same things over his opponent and insults them without actually discrediting their claims. The Human Race disappoints me most days, but this takes the biscuit.

The one I liked was when he was a goalkeeper at Coventry and they called him Cinderella because he kept missing the ball.

PS that was before he had to retire because of athritis
