He's not been given much playing time. I think Bruce is looking to settle him in over the next two seasons. Rome wasn't built in a day. many players from abroad take time to settle. He might turn out to be great he might not. The same can be said for many players, even when they start off with an avalanche of goals. You should be enjoying being top of the league and playing well, forget being petty it makes you look like a saddo!
a) Not an excuse. it's what can happen. Bruce even said that before he played him and gave some great examples of the players signed at Wigan. I'll wait to see a season or so before I make any judgements thanks. b) You can't focus on your own team's great start to the season at this point? Something missing from your life? One day you'll become a man (go and re-read "If")
I can understand buying a young player for that price and breaking him in, but at nearly 26, this guy should be really to go now. He's in his prime.
But that's the point. Mills and Beckford came with reputations. They just didn't live up to them. Prozzie has little reputation, so if you're going to pay nearly £3m for a nobody, they need to prove their worth, otherwise it looks like bad business.
The bloke has hardly started any games yet .... whilst it may be fun to wind the tiggggers up on this, we are hardly in a position to judge his merits ... how much of him have you seen?
The fact that he isn't starting says all anyone needs to know. Premier clubs may pay £2.6m for a player and stick him in the reserves, but in this league that's a Hell of a lot for a bench-warmer - more than Beckford remember, and probably more than Knockaert. As I've stated already on this subject he may well come good but at the moment his failure to even get a starting place must be worrying for Hull fans and embarrassing for those that made ambitious predictions in pre-season despite never having seen him play. After we were all mocked all of last season for one or two of our fans making similar foolhardy predictions, you can't blame people for giving out a bit of payback. What goes around and all that...
Right now, I can't say wether he is good or not. He has started 3 games I think and that is it. Aluko and Simpson are doing very well, therefore it is making it very hard for Big Nick to get into the team. He will come good, he just needs time to do so.
Pot-Kettle-Black comes to mind, and before you go off on a rant. I'm pretty sure that if you went back into previous posts you will find similar wums from your board(Hull) on the spending we did under Sven. If you dish it out you've got to take it.
OLM.. you had better brace yourself.. I shall be starting the "Deutschland Dud" thread as we move into november..If the rhine monkey as still not got one
We've only bought one player with any significant fee and we don't believe he cost anything like the figure quoted. Waghorn cost more and gets just as little game time, but I never felt the need to start a 'Will the Geordie sick note score' thread. Anyway, feel free to carry and I'll carry on taking the piss. As you say, if you dish it out, you've got to take it.
Difference with Waggy he is an England under 21 international and only 22 years old The Hun on the other hand?
