If Cairney was right footed then no one would mention this one footed bollocks. When was the last time Evans or McKenna even trapped a ball with their left, let alone ping a 30 yard ball with it?

Cairney is our best central midfielder, no doubt.

Cairney was sat amongst the fans today with his girlfriend, things got a little heated with the old bill leaving the ground and Cairney ended up right in the middle of it .

Is she a looker? I think she must be. Tom has a fine sensible haircut.

Cairney probably isn't as good as Quinn, but he's still one of our most talented players with the ball at his feet. The whole passing backwards thing is a massive load of bollocks. Do people really want to see Sam Allardyce football where everything goes straight in the box? Pisses me off when the entire ground groans at a sideways pass, all they're groaning at is good football. Ironically these same people will be the ones that say we are miles behind Spain and Italy in terms of technical ability, but just want to see long balls forward at club level. <doh>

As for one-footed, Andy Dawson and Alex Bruce are both more one footed than him, and no one says anything about them. In fact, they both make mistakes a lot more often than Cairney and it always goes ignored, and often it's down to being one-footed, like Bruce constantly kicking it into touch.

No doubt eh? Hmmm - care to qaulify that bold statement with evidence? For example, when did Tom last dominate a game and put in a match winning performance? I certainly know it wasnt as recent as him being dropped by St Nick and then taking to Twitter to fake an injury to avoid the embarrassment.

Truly a model pro that we should hold dearly in our hearts...

EDit - the more I think about this the mroe ridiculous a statement it is considering our captain and most influential player who put in match winning performances and scored key goals throughout last season is a central midfielder. Can you imagine the clamour for Tom to sign a new contract to make a clause redundant....

Bizarrely in the perm players seemed to have mire time on the ball felt, in the championship it seems players are closed upon a lot quicker. Tom isn't the quickest of players so in this league he strangely isn't so effective, where inthe prem it suited his style. I like to as stated in the forest game last season he was brilliant especially the first 15 mins. Still young and under Bruce will come along nicely

He has talent, could of been an outstanding player if the PL didn't all go to his head.

Yeah, Alex Bruce has been immune to criticism on here from the day we signed him. <doh>

There are too many well paid single footed footballers and nobody seems to do anything to change it.
Lefties seem to be more obviously one footed .
Surely tell them to stay behind after morning training and get them to practice with the other leg.Not rocket science.

The only thing Bullard brought to the team was the ability to use inside and outside of both feet giving him four options rather than the single option..instep of favoured foot.... that sime of our players have.

To be fair, Aluko is predominantly one footed but nobody moans about him! I know they are different players and Aluko does create a lot more than Cairney but the argument that Cairney can only use his left is boring now

Totally agree. Juan Sebastian Veron was one of THE most one-footed players I have ever seen and it astonished me that he could get like that. Ive always said the same as you just have - players normally train for 2-3 hours a day and then have lunch together giving them a good 3 hours spare of a normal working day. Why dont thy spend this time using their non-regular foot? I know Dario G at Crewe used to have a full session once a week where players had to use their unfavoured foot.

I remember when me and my step brother where kids. When we where bored in the summer holiday's we'd spend hours mess about with a ball with our left. Alot of it is getting rid of the habbit of using your weaker foot. Everyone calls Messi the best player in the world, but is very left footed. Thats why IMO Ronaldo edges it.
