sounds like the refs are acting normal. giving decisions against watford is in their job description, that or they need an eye test
Watford can appeal against the red card, but even if it is overturned the game result itself cannot be changed.
Chris Kamara thinks the ref saw a stamp by Vydra but according to Kamara Vydra "lifted his foot delicately away from where Nicky Bailey was".
Why do Watford get such bad referees? Is the standard very low or are we being punished for something as every week something bad happens.
What a shocking decision by the ref and it cost us really..even the Boro website calls it "mysterious" Shame to not take our chances though after a great start and the 1st goal seemed pretty sloppy but well finished. I presume Deeney was injured or knackered...his replacement didn't impress BUT again he maybe isn't fully match fit and coming on in such a situation wasn't ideal.
Just home...it's 7.30...still fuming. I don't like blaming refs and our abysmal defending wasn't his fault but no-one around us...and the incident was right in front of us...saw anything to warrant a free kick never mind a red card.
Having been around in the days when you accepted that a ref was right even when he was clearly wrong, it becomes hard to change that reasoning, but Watford certainly seem to have had more than their fair share of officials who really should be brought before a panel to explain just what they think they are doing. It is expensive to go to a game these days and you don't want a man spoiling what was building to be good value for your money.
To quote Marco Cassetti and Gianfranco Zola respectively the ref was **** and the decision was appalling. I also spoke to Vydra (with his friend translating) and he says not a red card, he simply tried to avoid him. The club have started the appeal and I have no doubt it will be upheld, the ref apparently admitted his mistake. I would not have a problem if we had fallen on our sword and cost ourselves the match, but I cannot abide poor oficiating. I would not wish that man on a luton match. He needs re-educating about what is a red card and what is not. He also needs to stop teams persistently fouling to get behind the ball.
