Well, I fear that is the game well and truly wrapped up for Chelsea now. They've just been too good for us.
Well if we'd kept a clean sheet second half I'd have been surprised. 4-1 against the league leaders is almost respectable, and we weren't really expecting anything. Performance second half has sounded pretty good though.
A kind of inevitability about that goal, all the same it was a little fortunate. They got the rub of the green on at least two counts. Still has been an fairly encouraging performance though, really pleased we are making chances and putting their back line under pressure at times.
Norwich have one weakness Multi-million pound world class players Or maybe it's teams with racists in them. I'm not sure.
I'm sorry mate are you playing the European Champions today or are you going to get beat again by some ****-kicker team?
I'm sorry mate, I guess losing 4-1 to the European Champions is acceptable to you then...fair play to you!
Well what would Ipswiches master plan be against them? We played better today but these guys are ruthless atm they'd **** anyone in the form their in. Fixtures are cruel atm
To be fair we did have our chances to get 3 points from previous fixtures and failed. Arsenal next.....
Chelsea are looking very good indeed. Unlike last season, where we were a little unlucky not to come away with a draw, we were never really in that game once they went 2-1 up. The Mourinho days are over at last and they are no longer playing like a poor would-be Mourinho side. The movement of their forwards is simply stunning. We won't go down because of losing games like that. And the good news is that none of Reading, QPR or Wigan won, so no one is getting away from us. Let's hope Villa and Southampton don't win either. We can match most of the teams in this league, I feel. The defence worries me, though.
Last time Ipswich played chelsea, wasn't it like 7-0 or something! The amount of people tweeting with #hughtonout is beyond belief, obviously the expect us to waltz in to Stamford Bridge against the European champions and beat them Better than last week, changes for arsenal would be Fox for Johnson and maybe Pilks for Hoolahan and have Howson in the middle of the forward 3!
Much more encouraging to me then previous results except maybe spurs. Just wish we'd go for it and put 2 strikers on instead of taking Holt off and Morison on. Think Villa is going to be a massive game we know they're going to go for it hopefully we can pick them off. Not expecting much from Arsenal but i didn't last year either and we had two good performances
Seems to me we are getting this season sort of what we expected to get last season! Last year nobody would have expected to get much from Liverpool or chelski, but last season was so good and unexpected all of a sudden a few people are thinking we can do well against teams like this. As far as I'm concerned as long as we can do well against the bottom teams, I'm not that bothered and just enjoying the ride in an unexpected 2nd season in the prem. happy to just be here and love watching us take on players like Chelski have. We will be stronger for the experience. Ch has a huge challenge keeping the teams heads up so when we get to the beatable teams we play the way we can and should
Some fans do amaze me. I still remember that berk on the radio saying we should've offered Lambert a £6million bonus to convince him to stay rather than bringing in Hughton. That equates to an extra £125,000 a week - I am glad that bloke isn't taking care of our finances, Lambert was never worth that much to us. We could've offered him a £20mill bonus and he probably wouldn't have stayed anyway. He was off no matter what.
Yes, and we didn't actually do that well last year against the top clubs. No points against the Manchester teams, a point at home to Chelsea, a point at Arsenal and Liverpool, and three points at Spurs. We were unlucky to not repeat the three points at Spurs this season and we have lost the games we lost last season. The reason we're in the position we're in is that we haven't beaten the clubs who might finish alongside us - West Ham and QPR - the kind of games we were winning last year. This was partly due to bad finishing and partly bad luck. If (a big if) Hughton can sort out the defence, I think we've still got a good chance of surviving because I think we're as good as half of the teams in this league. I wish some of our fans would grow up and recognise how far we have come in a short space of time and realise that establishing ourselves as a regular Premier club will be even harder than achieving the meteoric rise. And personally I don't think Lambert was capable of doing that because he doesn't have the patience to build slowly.
I'm just watching the binners game against Cardiff on tv. The difference in class is bigger than I remember.
